NWA used to do them on the DC-9. They actually went really senior, and reserves rarely ended up flying them. I don't really remember exactly why the senior guys liked them so much...I think we got paid 2x min day for them, but that was Pre-bankruptcy.

I have been told the DC-9s were being parked since I was hired 14 years ago. Not saying 757s won't go but then only things I have seen in writing talk about 14 being parked in the next 2 years.

Up to 4 in a row at some regionals...

There weren't any. All the guys with the stupid uni's ran around a lot. That's pretty much it.

Daily credit applied calendar day, or
ALV + if line of CDO's = < ALV

If we are going to recover express type flying, this is the type flying a lot of them do.

Just some ideas.
There are far better ways to schedule than allowing those. When I asked about cdo's/highspeeds/illegals in newhire class, and the coordinator said "what are those?," I knew I was at the right company. Perhaps with a 1:1 duty rig (8 hours of duty, 8 hours of pay), I could agree to them as it would be so highly restrictive and used so sparingly they would go to people actually wanting to do them.

I'm not buying it. I know that was announced. I bet it doesn't happen....at least not that dramatically.

The Bus used to have them too. MSP-FAR one of the most senior as it payed almost 7 hours with less than 2 hours flying. I don't think they are worth as much now as they were under NWA. Way back when, you could bid an entire line of them on the 727.

We don't have a special rig for them and the company doesn't schedule them. I'd rather not let that cat out of the bag as I routinely ran into junior NW crews that had been assigned them on rsv. They are fatiguing and horrible. If the cat is let out of the bag (bad idea), it had better pay more than NW paid for it to keep it highly limited in use.

Personally, I hope we never see high speeds/CDOs/Stand-up/illegals again.

F. that noise. Pilot pushing and scheduling abuse. I'd be ashamed if we ever permit that sort of shenanigans.
