Question: Is there a provision in the contract for the company to override the bid timeline for any reason.

Yes or no.

No worries. I don't think I've ever seen the L&G skip before. I swear I felt a slight tremor under my feet.

We'll get over it.

All I'm saying is that we're expected to follow the contract. There are no excuses for us. And if we don't adhere to the contract, there are consequences.

Apparently it's a one-way street.

There's no reason to be this obtuse, PD. There are sometimes extenuating circumstances, same with you following the contract.

So they are a day late due to last minute marketing changes. Relax and get over it. I'm sure you have never made a mistake and had to fill out an ASAP report?

Worse was when vagabond soft deleted the L&G on April Fool's Day this year. I got at least 10 texts that morning, many pointing at me thinking I did it. The earth shook, underboobs were covered, Timbo finally did find his DB in that cheerleader's hoo-ha, Carl and slowplay became best friends, and newK got his dream to go back to DC-9 captain and to have the plane never retire.

johnso- thanks for trying to clean it up, then cleaning up the clean up.

PD,

[I see you removed your text, I can delete this also if you want]

Apparently, there is language to cover this:

The sequence of events set forth in Section 23 B. 1. and 2. may be altered by mutual agreement between the Director – Crew Resources and the MEC Scheduling Committee Chairman.

I assume these guys deal with one another to solve issues all the time, and work with one another on issues, for example the RCC. I see in the Oct Crew Resources update that they modified some trips in two categories per the RCC's recommendations.

You want the scheduling guy to refuse this extra day for the hell of it? I assume these guys sit down and try to work out rotations that are less heinous all the time.

I'm not saying I'm scared of it, and I'm not inclined to gave the company a pass after being disgusted by that health assessment, so if we want to make a point... I'm asking if you think it's judicious to make that particular point in these circumstances.

Yes. Here it is.

Sec 23.D.4

Initial line bidding will close at 1800E on the 11th day of each month.

Exception: Under unusual and extenuating circumstances, the Company may close initial line bidding on a day subsequent to the 11th day of a month. In all cases, bid packages will be made available at least seven days before bid closing.
