We can disagree based on facts. When you type about ALPA politicians making promises for management to act upon in the context of this thread I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out.

Slow - OK I'm just not following your concern, you are going to have to be more specific.

Management hires pilots. Are you writing that Delta management has indicated a willingness to abide an enlargement of flow through agreements? If they have, I've missed it. In fact, last I heard management was a lot less than pleased with the idea of ceding their control over hiring Delta pilots.

Also, management promises of future employment have almost never been kept in this business. Again, I cite the example of the failures of flow through agreements at US Air, American and United. Pattern bargaining is one thing. When it leads to pattern failures I trust the smart (and we have some very smart people at D-ALPA) to lead us in a different direction.

For example, they did an outstanding job holding things together in our merger. They did a great job obtaining benefits for pilots in this transaction.

I'm just guessing at your point. Could you clarify with specificity?

Can we bring the 732s back? I mean if DALN was able to retain the DC9s for so long? Didn't both run JT8Ds? That'd be a good 100 seater.

I'm in PHX unpacking boxes, joemomma lets me have about 15 minutes a day to look at APC . I'm trying to keep up but I'm not doing a very good job of it.

First commute was uneventful, and I was able to actually book the jumpseat. I don't know how to act having all mainline jets to commute on and a late night flight to get me home. Life is good! Thanks for asking

I didn't read anyone promising anything. And I agree no one gets anything done by themselves. The only "plan" that works is being able to build consensus. I would also caution against too much ALPA experience - we have all seen long time ALPA volunteers who will not step out a limb with a position they feel strongly about because they do not want to jeopardize their good deal or a future ALPA position.

I can only speak for myself, but I have not promised anything--except to represent our pilots honestly, communicate in a timely manner, and aggressively defend, promote, and enhance our contract at every available opportunity.

I do, however, share your caution on too much ALPA experience. Part of my wanting to run is to bring some fresh perspective to the table. I realize that many of you want a plan of how to do certain things, and that just cannot happen on this forum. There are just too many other interested parties who have a much different agenda than we do. Suffice to say that the talent pool at Delta is deep with ideas, and one of my strengths is to bring that talent together--ala CRM--to bring out the ideas which withstand the test of scrutiny. Then you have to make our case to some smart people on the MEC in order to bring those ideas to fruition. We have had some leadership in the past who shared some of the ideals many of us express here, but for whatever reason they were not able to convince others and "close the deal" so to speak.

I am hoping to not only bring a collective mindset of ideas from our new council 44 reps via our pilots, but make us effective in communicating those ideas successfully to the MEC and successful in implementing them.

Altruistic? Perhaps, but most definitely genuine.

I love how anybody that disagrees with the current administration is always painted as the "just say no crowd." But I guess it is an easy way to marginalize anyone who disagrees.

What happened to the 737-800 (7366) parked on 22 in JFK. Looks like the nose gear collapsed at the gate. Any info/details?
