It's a long letter, I won't post the whole thing here - everyone will see a copy anyway, but this was about the strongest line:

"Let’s be clear, DPA’s efforts are a blueprint of the USAPA disaster and we cannot afford to repeat the US Airways fiasco here. "

Thoughts?
My thoughts are that he is spot on.

I'm only quote myself to start the conversation...

I think DPA has had it's chance - it's been three years. Rather than be divisive going into C2015, I think TC and others should man up and either say they have the cards for an election or they don't. If they haven't been able to get the cards yet, they probably aren't going to.

Going into C2015 with DPA hanging over everyone's head will only make us weaker, divide us when we should be strong, and in the eyes of the company, it makes us look weak and we might end up with a worse contract because of it.

Yes, there are the DPA folks who say if we only could get rid of ALPA we could have an even better contract - but if DPA doesn't have enough cards to call for an election, then they don't have the numbers and it's not going to happen. Sorry - but in that case the pilots have spoken.

Do you think DPA weakened our C2012? Kingsley has trumpeted C2012:

In 2012, we negotiated a contract that is industry leading in many ways, and we completed it well ahead of the amendable date, with sizable gains that not only benefit our pilot group, but that have raised the bar for other pilot groups throughout the industry.
I do wish to get this resolved before C2015. I am for an election sooner rather than later.

Default Potential Good News

From the DALPA boards:

Two positive threads.

First talk about more hiring than originally planned. Second talk of the WB order being announced with an interim order of 10 777's and 30 737-900's OR 10 330's and 30 321's (no split order.) Waiting for BOD approval. Should be announced by the end of August (tomorrow?)

As always - Good news tomorrow

the announcement on the order was supposed to be last week! just like the hiring was supposed to be a few years ago.

Curiosity question: Anybody here flown both the 777 and A330? From a pilot perspective, would you rather have 10 777's or A330's and why?

I like the way you think on this subject matter The higher pay certainly has to put the 777 in the lead. Tsquare, care to chime in?

Thank goodness no ALPA supporters (or even ALPA itself) is not slinging mud or otherwise engaging in personal attacks.

Don't kid yourself. There is plenty of mud-slinging from both sides.
