Why a doctors note for child care? Or an upset stomach?
Seems there are plenty of things the FAA deems disqualifying that do not require a docs note.

Fly with a cold, one that wouldn't stop you from doing anything in your normal life, and risk blowing out an ear drum.

You cannot have it both ways. Like you said, the Company doesn't make many stupid financial decisions.

Denny
The company doesn't make many dumb decisions. The pump-n-dump as you described would've meant adding a lot of airplanes and a lot of pilots, in-flight, mechanics, etc, only to dump them just as fast. It'd been an atrocious option. It'd also meant losing 102 70-seaters as you went from 153 76-seaters to 255 76-seaters. And you'd still have a bunch of 50-seaters that we now know, according to earnings call transcripts, provided a bad customer experience. Not smart stewardship.

So Option A, the one we approved, was a pilot funded pilot raise in exchange for 70-more 76 seaters and a quick way out of some poorly thought out 50-seater contracts.

What's a pilot-funded-pilot-raise? It's where you agree to a raise in exchange for scope concession, productivity increases and decreased profit sharing:

Hi, folks. Can you talk a little bit about how you’re going to afford that new pilot contract?

Richard Anderson
Hi, Mary Jane, this is Richard. Sorry for not saying hello. When you look at the overall value that we’re going to create as a result of unlocking the ability to refleet plus the productivity that has been built into that agreement, we’re confident that it will be an important part of our ability to get to unit cost over the next couple of years to improve our margins and our return on invested capital.

Glen Hauenstein
And, Mary Jane, this is Ed. One additional thing, we also reduced the profit sharing going forward and that’s an important part of helping to fund that cost growth.

Sure. Okay. Thank you.
