Delta MEC politics (particularly before the latest turnover) tend toward snap salute and fall in line. The dissentors are demonized. I spoke with some that agreed with your posts*, and some that didn't. The ones that agreed had little substance behind their justification other than repeating the party lines. Quite disappointed, but considering the sales job that went into the whole thing, not surprising. I disagree with your assertion that it can be extrapolaged from the vote that leverage had been used to the limit. That vote was solely whether it should be put to the masses.
We can enjoy a profit sharing check next year about the same or less than this year, as well as a less than COLA pay bump, while the company will sure enjoy keeping all that extra money in their pockets.

I won't be ok if there isn't a visible effort by every pilot to vote and support the new batch of reps for C2015 and hold those reps to the standard that the majority of pilots desire. That means showing up for meetings and events, wearing their ALPA pin or lanyard, getting rid of all the DPA stickers/pins/lanyards/bagtags. Every pilot who makes a public display showing they are not unified behind the people they elected, the less leverage and resolve the Company thinks we have. I know you are a supporter albeit a frustrated one, but we need pilots to realize that unity will be necessary to keep climbing the road to restoration.

After our lead negotiator was done with our TA he went and worked his same magic at the VW dealership.

In other news, American reported it has no other plan to exit bankruptcy and will need to start over with creation of a stand alone plan then negotiate with creditors and the Courts if their merger with US is quashed. They estimate that process would take another 2 and 1/2 years. They pulled about 1.5% capacity down starting this fall.

The DOJ says they relied on an outside consultant for their analysis and is claiming "work privilege" to keep their data away from public scrutiny.

IMHO it appears the DOJ failed to consider what happens to American without the merger and made erroneous assumptions based on growth faries and financing from the sale of unicorn tears.

Where does that leave us? It leaves us with a grand total of 4 markets that would be truly impacted by the merger. There’s DFW to both Philly and Charlotte, Charlotte to St Thomas, and DFW to Palm Springs.
