The government forging the inflation numbers is 99% of the cause, not the union or the company.

Alright, I love this stuff.
So I just went to my favorite porn site... Controller.com... and found this beauty:
1985 BEECHCRAFT F33A BONANZA Piston Single Aircraft For Sale At Controller.com
it's got TKS for those just in case moments Rocky goes into icing conditions.
Since you actually lived this stuff Bar let's figure up his expenses and deductions for a 750 mile trip done once a month? Or is it twice Rocky?
$@!#_@%!@$. I'm being summoned.

Fixed costs of about $1425 per month if you don't have a partner.
Operating Costs of about $151/Hr if you get an average burn of 17 GPH
I make one trip per month 800 miles. It would typically take about 3 hours to fly that so RT would be $900 operating cost plus $1425 fixed costs for a total montly cost of $2325 to make the trip in a Bonanza. Plus the $24,000 cash outlay for the down payemnt.
If I did it 4 times per month my cost per trip would be $1262. Cost to drive is $250 RT and I get a $750 write off.
Fixed costs are:
$975 for your payment. (20 year loan/15% down/6.0%)
$200/mo Insurance
$250/mo Hanger
Variable costs are:
Fuel $97.75/hr figuring an avg 17gph burn and fuel at $5.75/gal
Engine reserves $43.00 with the 949 SMOH and a $40,000 cost to rebuild
Routine MX $10.00/hr
All of that does not consider the depreciation you would get on your taxes, but even with that it still doesn't make financial sense as a small business owner to have an airplane. It makes sense if you have the cash flow to afford it and want to have fun, but never works out to be a good financial move.
Denny,
With the new contract it only puts you at the top of the group your in and bucket. Example. Your good for 4 days and your in bucket 2. It only puts you on top for a 4 day in bucket 2. If there are guys on bucket 1 that's good for a 4 day they will get the trip even we you requested it and they did not. Needs to be fixed. You want the trip and can't get it.

Yeah, I figured trip assignment still went by days of availability first. I just couldn't remember/find anything about the 15 point reduction in RAW went away or not.
