I wouldn't let your feathers get too ruffled. I honestly believe he's so far off the reservation on most issues(commuting is a choice for example) that I think he personally is one of DPAs best recruiters.

Flamer's certainly into lobbing grenades most of the time, but I have to wonder what the purpose of the memo is. More specifically, why this type of memo isn't being put out by Flight Ops. If they want to explain why they don't want to do certain things, let them. If we want to politely say we deserve better, then let's do that. I don't see the advantage in us carrying their water in establishing a rationale for their actions.
To the extent it's part of the overall communications effort, it fails.
How about: "...We've asked for more efficient rotations. To their credit [no pun intended], the company did agree to model it. In some cases, there is a cost associated with these higher quality trips, and the company chooses not to incur that cost. We will continue to encourage them to do better, and we recommend that they provide the group with a rationale for their choice..."?

Also, keep in mind that after labor day you are less likely to fly on every single RSV day, which further tilts the needle towards RSV. That's just me though. Happy bidding. I need to get mine in soon too. Almost ftb'd last month.

What's guarantee? I almost always opt for reserve. For example, I had a week of vacation in July and started the month with around 84 hours of pay. To beat that as a lineholder, you'd have to fly at least 62ish hours. With a guarantee of 80, you'd be full around 58 hours. There's the possibility that you wouldn't even work that much.

I usually start out intending to fly a line, but then give up after looking at the bid package. Even being pretty senior in category I end up bidding reserve 6-8 months of the year.

The pilots clamor for more efficient rotations. We direct the MEC to study the issue. They do just that, and come up with hard data. But now you DON'T want them to publish that? Instead, you want them to provide some wishy washy answer. I thought you wanted ALPA to be more transparent and open in their communications. Or is that only when the data supports your own preconceived notions...
I'm surprised at you, Sink r8; you're generally more level headed than that.

Happened early in 1986. We were also in the process of converting to the F-16 at Moody. Collapsed the nose gear and took a hard left.
At Selfridge ANGB in the early 90's, our two-seater hit a doe and fawn on landing rollout. No damage, but both deer didn't make it. A few weeks later, professional bow hunters were allowed on base to cull the herd. Maintenance techs had deer sihlouettes painted on the intake.

The only thing more embarrassing than a "union" that pukes out the hackish, transparent drivel that you and ALPA do is the fact that the majority our pilot group swallows it whole.

Purple, I know reading is not your strong point, but perhaps you can get your Mom to read it to you....slowly. The RCC document being complained about was signed by 10 Delta pilots, none of whom are on the MEC.
