Default 319/320 aircraft upgrades

I just finished listening to the new, right from Richard. Apparently, at the last BOD meeting they approved a new configuration for the A319/A320 fleet. The A319's will be getting avod throughout the plane with live Tv. Also, specifically mentions using these airplanes on routes to Latin America. It looks like we may actually grow our own product in Latin America vs. Pushing people to GOL and Aero Mexico.

Gate space is definitely an issue. Supposedly we're in negotiations with UAL for their gates in 6. That would be huge.

Buzz, It's been years since I was through LAX and I'm trying to get a mental picture of T6. What airlines uses what gates at T6 currently?

Atlas (though they went with the Teamsters, not independent).

Atlas' pilots voted ALPA in in the late 90's. Atlas (the company) then bought Polar and began whipsawing the two against each other. ALPA National was totally ineffective in moderating that dispute (ala TWA/American) and were voted out.

I think the lesson here is that looking to National in labor disputes between two competing airlines won't get you very far. I know, NWA/Delta were two competing airlines with a successful outcome, but we did not look to National for help. We were big boys who slugged it out on our own and made it work.

Alaska
Copa (Departures)
Great Lakes
United

According to the airport web site... Wasn't there a rumor we are looking to trade T6 in LAX for gate space in ORD with United? Copa is just Latin United... with lower wages.

This last email doesn't help since day one people said it was a vendetta against ALPA for the typo furlough and a way to get back at ALPA after the merger. Now he's splashing the letter around again and a buddy of mine over at American said he had him on a jumpseat and they were quizzing him about the rumors. They asked him if the interweb rumor was real about trying to change the SLI and he answered that he'd do whatever the pilots asked him to do! His FO called him effen crazy at that point for even contemplating messing with the SLI under the pretense of pilot direction. It's really starting to sound far more personal by the day to me. A lot of anger and accusations for 3 years of campaigning.

Edit: I tried to embed the letter but it's blocked?

Based on his email blasts, I cannot/will not back DPA if he's affiliated with it in anyway.
Count me in on that sentiment. I quit taking DPA seriously because of him a long time ago.
