I think it will go recalls, flows/SSP, and military, as the composition of classes over the next few years. There is also a rumor floating around here that Delta plans to interview everyone at 9E, all at once, and put them in an SSP pool. This is an incentive to get people to stay at 9E, since people here are dropping like flies. I have 6 friends that put in their two week notice over the past 2 weeks alone.
No one is going to come work for 9E after what has gone on here the last few years and the contract.

I'm really hoping you guys don't start running with the whole "female no TPIC" crap. Every female pilot I know of here at Delta was either a Captain or aircraft Commander in their former lives. I have heard of PEOPLE, male and female, getting the interview with no TPIC. While it boggles the mind that Delta would even consider such candidates, it is Delta's decision to do so. Delta does NOT hire on a quota of any kind, so please let's stay away from the female bashing. However, I also hope Delta refrains from further handicapping future female hires by not interviewing/ hiring anyone with less than the COMPETITIVE qualifications. There are hundreds of females in the military and at the regionals with thousands of hours of TPIC, please choose amongst them!

They won't interview and put the majority of the group in a pool. The majority of SSP has to be in seniority. how will they impliment that with the percentage that can be out of order? how will they accomplish this with everyone in a pool. We'll see movement with the SSP. I'm just glad we have a system in place to keep us from being blacklisted like before the flow.

Mr. P. Drank,
That was a great post! Bravo!
Honest question: Don't you think if you posted "reasons" of your ALPA disdain, vs "one-line ALPA attack ads", more would listen?
There are numerous individuals on the thread alone who've put you on an "ignore list" from how you deliver your message. One 777-driver in particular, (sorry, get Timbo/Scambo confused) who call you his "most unimportant" person.
I agree with you. ALPA-National sucks Donkey Kong. I also agree that we should've made "greater" gains in this last contract negotiation.
*alert* Honest question: How were greater gains possible when we were already ahead of our peer groups, sans Southwest? How were we supposed to stomp our feet, & pound our fists on the table when we were ALREADY making more than American, United, US Air, & all the other LCC's?
I agree, the management of "old" Delta was incompetent, greedy, & probably lazy too. (Or at least misinformed by their V.P.'s?) The management we have now has taken us, & will continue to keep us ahead of the competition. WITH THAT BEING SAID, they still have a company to run, with great efficiency, & shareholders to keep happy, & possibly "impress" every so often.
I'll buy you a beer if we ever happen to meet, but for the most part, just feel that we're in a really good spot. With the looming retirements, & the inability for the regionals to find their 1500hr. new-hire requirements, we'll continually be in the "driver's seats" for future contract negotiation.
Good day,
GJ

Just a side note, I don't believe Donkey Kong was an asiana pilot on the fateful day.
As a start for getting a better contract, it would be helpful if our CBA followed the guidance of the membership if they are actually going to ask for it. In this time of profitability, concessions were in no way shape or form warranted.

I for one thinks that the hiring folks do a great job. In my 2010 class we had a tremendous group of talented and interesting people with a variety of backgrounds (Mil/civilian). Everyone brought something to the table in more ways than I could have imagined.
Personally I'd like to see Delta hire the pilots Delta wants with no strings attached. That doesn't mean that I believe we should back out of previously signed agreements. The Compass and Mesaba guys I have met are all great people and talented individuals who are every bit as qualified to be Delta pilots as the next. The PNCL agreement baffles me a bit and I'll pass on the concept but hey a deal is a deal.
Let's not forget that there are a few pilots who successfully interviewed at Delta in 2010 who unfortunately never received a class date. We also have a few former NWA poolies who never interviewed at DAL and are still waiting for an opportunity. I'm good friends with one who is a former RJ check airman and current assistant chief pilot. I'd like to see those folks (DAL and NWA poolies) get a shot this time around.

You are right about no one wanting to come here in the future though. Delta could solve this by giving an incentive to come to endeavor or just by parking more of our airplanes.

Like Mesabah said guys are currently dropping like flies at 9E. After talking to a hiring pilot at CZ it sounds like a huge chunk of guys in the CZ pool are current 9E guys. So once Compass starts sending flows to DL class the resignation letters will start flowing again at 9E. I like the cult-like interview in ALT idea. Should I call crew scheduling at make sure the listed me on the 747 flight? ;-p
