About the poor quality of service on our regional carriers? I couldn't agree more. Glad you agree.

You have some good ideas, but in the end one of two things are going to happen. The Delta Connection carriers will be flying anything smaller than a 757, or Delta Connection is done growing and will shrink or stagnate from this point on. Either way the whipsaw will continue and you will be held down by companies with terrible work rules and benefits like Mesa and Republic. You will never be on the Delta seniority list ahead of anyone that is on it right now no matter how senior you are at ASA. You have to accept that being senior at ASA means nothing when it comes to mainline. You made your decision to stay and you seem pretty happy with it. Just don't come *****ing in ten years when you are in a similar situation to the Comair captains. I agree with you on a lot of things, but decided it was less risky long term to quit my regional.

I always use to laugh when people complained about seeing RJs at the regional level. My belief any aircraft that said Delta, NWA, United, etc, should be flown and operated by that carrier. It shouldn't matter if it was a CRJ/ERJ, SF340, BE1900, etc. That is the only way you can guarantee the same level of service.

When people buy a ticket they should know they are buying a flight on the airline that they choose.

I do not think Comair or Mesa will see any increase in flying as a result of the gate swap. According JB’s “Comair President” weekly message he stated that as far as he knows, Comair will not see any increase in flying but a shift in flying as a result of the gate swap. And according to a post on the regional forum, Delta filed a suit again to terminate Mesa’s contract.

Other Events

“Item 8.01. Other Events

On August 19, 2009, Delta Air Lines, Inc. ("Delta") filed suit in the Northern District of Georgia seeking to terminate the Delta Connection Agreement among Delta, Mesa Air Group, Inc. (the "Company"), and the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary, Freedom Airlines, Inc. ("Freedom"), dated May 3, 2005 (as thereafter amended, the "Connection Agreement"). Delta's lawsuit seeks a declaratory judgment from the Court authorizing it to terminate the Connection Agreement as a result of a claimed "material breach" by Freedom. The Company vehemently denies there is any basis for terminating the Connection Agreement and intends to vigorously defend its rights thereunder. The Company also intends to file counterclaims against Delta for the damages caused by Delta's continued bad faith actions and breaches of the Connection Agreement.

The alleged material breach relates to Delta's efforts to impose certain cost reductions on Freedom. Freedom believes that Delta's claims are wholly without merit and are a direct effort by Delta to circumvent the injunction prohibiting Delta from terminating Freedom's Connection Agreement, which was recently upheld by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. For a description of the Company's contractual relationship and legal proceedings with Delta, see the disclosure set forth in the Company's Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended and subsequently filed quarterly reports on Form 10-Q and current reports on Form 8-K.”[/FONT]
