This is what they said today in the JFK Base visit.

Also, no more SILs are going to be offered but still looking at voluntary ways to reduce staffing. No furloughs planned or expected. Still expect next summer to be close to this summer's flying. Expect to get rid of another 40 fifty-seaters next year.

Did they say anything about new construction at JFK? New terminals or pilot lounge news?

Are you North guys taking into account that most of the instructors will be out flying the line. I don't think you're going to be that short up there, but hey what do I know!

Trust me reserve is not as bad as it could be. I agree that we need to rework section 23 and how they assign short call. This arbitrary assigning of short calls needs to be changed.

All,

Long time listener, first time caller.

Begin rant:

Super,

One of the things that I first enjoyed about this forum (albeit as a lurker) was what I perceived to be a free exchange of divergent opinions and ideas regarding all of the issues that affect Delta Pilots. While I have not always agreed with JoeMerchant's ideas, I have felt that we are all the better for having a place where people can exchange those divergent opinions so at the very least we can better gauge where we are all coming from. Just as I got upset when the Comair guys stated that our scope was stifling their career paths, I feel that Joe gets a bit peeved when I want to take his ride out from under him.

I get a bit confused when I read all of this talk about pilot unity, yet whenever concepts are presented that conflict with the current thread mindset, people actually ignore the dissenters. It would appear to be a tactic that DALPA itself is using (much to the disain of those on this very forum) about the current scope issues.

Super, I respect your opinion (as well as the rest on this forum), but I would respectfully suggest that it is exactly people like Joe to whom we should be listening. Just as those at DALPA (are you listening Slow?) should be paying attention to the opinions of the scopehawks on APC.

The minute that free exchange of ideas ends, APC becomes the DALPA forum. I don't think anyone wants that.

End rant

Thanks for listening, I now return you to your previously scheduled ramblings.

I know this would just be a guess but does anyone know if the A320 in SLC will go senior?
