Well, I personally can't figure out why any md88 pilot in their right mind would want to spend another minute on the md88 while off the clock?

I guess they could mention that unlike a Boeing, you don't have to have a hydraulic failure to go to manual mode. You're always in manual mode.

Id add that the mag compass doesn't interfere with your forward vision.

Nice MD video... I've always wondered what you guys were talking about!

PBS Desktop question--- I notice that no matter what I click on the expanded "sychronize" menu (prior months bids, activities, etc.), the calendar for Jun is WRONG. It only shows my original Jun bid award, not my CURRENT schedule. I basically dropped everything and picked up 3 trips instead, so the Jun sched in the PBS desktop is totally wrong.
I don't think it matters, as PBS doesn't curtail the trips it shows (like EasyBid does), but does anyone know how to actually synchronize the PBS desktop so it reflects what you're actually doing? (It appears Easybid with it's long process of reading your schedule day by day is much more accurate, but I just can't see the bid info the way I want it with that program).

Thanks to any PBS ninjas out there.

PS-- for 80, I'm a good example of needing to WS trips; I dropped everything as it all sucked and wasn't too commutable, and now I'm just WAITING for anything commutable and decent to show up, to refill my schedule to about 3/4 full. I only fly about 3/4 monthly hours usually, but I PS or white slip several times.

On the 88 its hard to get out of the cockpit since you have 2 caterers, 3 or 4 FAs, and 3 cleaners standing in the doorway. And basically all in the same tiny little spot in the doorway.

How legit is this? I didn't get 12 hours notice yet Now I'm expected to make report time which She knows I wouldn't have made if called at 0330. I've been on mil leave for over a year and don't remember this tactic.
They've been pulling that for a while now. I know how you feel. For some it does work out as a good thing; others not as much.

Currently I'm sitting on the inside shoulder of the road around a blind bend with cars racing by almost clipping me. I called USAA roadside assist and they are sending someone. I would just put the spare on myself but I am not in a safe position so here I sit waiting. Anyway, crew scheduling is "going to personal drop this trip" for me. ***! I'm glad I just paid close to $30 dollars in tolls only to get kicked in the junk by scheduling because of crappy NY roads.

Maybe I'm reading more into your post than you meant, but it is their job to make sure the trip still goes out on time, right?

You, no doubt, have run into some [no pun intended] very bad luck on the expressways of New York city. With all due respect, I'm not understanding why Crew Scheduling is "kicking you in the junk" by ensuring there's a crew available to fly the trip? Did you tell them it'd only take you another 10-15 mins to get your tire fixed? Did you discuss with them the possibility of entering your trip, mid-rotation, once you did make it to the airport safely?

Hope your MX delay and issue with Crew Scheduling is rectified safely, and to the benefit of both your concerns and the company's.

GJ
I kind of see both sides here and good points made by Gearjerk, but as a comparison would the guy who was getting FPL and had the same situation happen to him get the nut punch? [/rhetorical].

I said FAs didn't I? Well I've got a good story. Riding on the employee bus towards the front I was sitting next to three FAs who were raving about cake recipes. The words Betty Crocker cookbook got tossed about. They were btw definite cake eaters. This continued the whole ride. They joked about going over to one of their houses to bake and eat cake.

So when the bus hit stop one the chatting went to hyper mode as two of the three were leaving and they wanted a last word. So after everyone else got off at the stop and the driver is about to close the door one of the FAs returned to ask the senior cake momma her numbers. Well this took a while. So the entire full bus just sat there as the two finished exchanging numbers and I think addresses.
