Because pretty soon 321's may be parking there. 321's flying DAL passengers who bought tickets on delta.com. The question is....... who will be flying those 321's, Delta pilots or the new code share/JV partner of the week?

Baja.
As someone else posted, there were 203 remaining on bypass as of the latest category list. I spoke with a crew resources rep at one of their base visits a month or two ago, and he said they estimated only about 75 (total pilots, not percentage,) would be returning.

Of course, that was one man's opinion at that particular time. They could do anything.

They need to hire to cover the planned increase in mainline block hours driven by the new contract. The RFP'S for additional aircraft are for deliveries in 2015 and later so they would not impact this bid or other bids until the fall of 14. This bid is probably exactly what they say. Staffing adjustments for the A320, 767 and maddog. The question is have they revised the block hours up or down. We will know on Monday.

Atlantic or America? If it is Atlantic, I hope it comes sooner rather than later so that we can get productivity balances based on their current flying... BEFORE Mr Anderson helps the other Richard see that flying 3 to 4 747s/day to MCO probably isn't making all that much money.... 50% of their seats across the Atlantic is a lot of potential flying for DAL pilots... a LOT.

Maybe someone realized they were wrong and that explains the new AE?
Prediction: MD's out of 717 categories BACK into 88's!!
You THOUGHT you'd get the summer off ...
What if they're going to cut the 717 in half because they're delayed, would that be why you'd have an AE and could they do that?

But it's an AE on a Monday, usually you fire people on Friday, so Monday?

Reserve or lineholder? If RES, awesome.

It'd be sad if he dropped his entire line and picked up 5 2-day trips on GS.

Sailingfun: They are in a bind. They should have hired the 150 guys they wanted in the first quarter. When virtually all discretionary funding was cut for the first quarter and most for the rest of the year they were not able to hire. The result is they are going to have to do a lot more training then if they just hired a few guys to fund the 717 copilot seats. You saw some of that result in the last bid when they were not able to fill all the positions because it created to much training.
The powers to be decided that making a first quarter profit and a record profit for the year are more important. I know it has to do with wallstreet and interest rates ect.. but I don't know the specifics. As a example of the cuts all winglet installations are also canceled for the remainder of this year.
Scoop, add to your list of reasons not to hire -

1) desire to show a profit so as to be considered investment grade,
2) desire to show a profit prior to a merger,
3) desire to show a profit
4) collect pants
5) ?
6) profit
