You can also be displaced by someone senior to you displacing into your category and booting you off the bottom.

Unfortunately DAL won't do that because the one thing the really like about the Large RJs is the 2 class configuration. If you put in more seats, you lose first class & go all coach.

It's one of the reasons the 76 cap was put in place, & the seat removal clause if furloughs occur.

Is that so we can have 85 people instead of 76 standing outside the plane in the jetway waiting for their gate check?

Man I am struggling to find this in the FOM or PWA, but somewhere it must be written that as a Delta pilot (DALS) you must be a complete ******* to ATC whenever you get the chance.

If anyone can find it let me know, I think its in chapter 3 or 5 and is probably sandwiched between where it says:

a) in lieu of standard IFR procedures and the required first come first serve basis of ATC that ATC will give priority handling to any jet (but especially the one you're on) that has Delta written on the side of it, except that if Connection is also written then they go to the end of the line, and

b) ATC controllers are idiot subordinates that must never look at you, must stand at attention at all times behind you, must make no suggestions to you, must do everything you tell them to do asap, must never deny your requ... demand, must answer when called and that when you talk to them you shall use your outside screaming voices no matter how petty the situation is.

After the past few months I've just got to believe its written in the FOM somewhere because it just happens sooo much. And what gets me about it is that the guys are by and large great people to be around!!?! I mean I hate it because we, Delta, come off looking really bad. FWIW, you give up a lot when you file IFR and a lot more when you do it for compensation or hire.

Sorry for the rant and the lack of a pictuire of UF swimsuit girl. I fear getting caught here at home posting that and not having any good rational explanation as to what I am doing.

FTB, I haven't seen any of that from LAX crews. Please tell me you're not SLC-based. Thanks to the displacements that'll be my next stop.

No this has been an ATL thing and I hate it too because guys are completely professional in the cockpit up until that mike is keyed. There is a disconnect somewhere as to ATC's role and the system at large.

easy there, we all have long days. (Especially those of us that got bumped from doing cushy 2 legs 3-day to a whopping 11 legs 3-day trip. I think DL-S is still by far more courteous than most airlines out there on the airwaves.

Look no further to our "friendly" NYC controllers, there's not enough pizza in the world to make them happy! and that's before Aeromexico heads into town.
