Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I'm actually surprised this hasn't got the rank and file in an uproar. I try not to comment too much on these types of situations since I am only a Delta wannabe, but I figured that would have caused some very big concerns with all DAL Pilots. Maybe I think it is a big deal when in fact it isn't..... I don't know.
regarding USAA, one thing I really appreciate (at least when I call) is their customer service. One person always takes care of me. They don't transfer me 4 times like AT&T does, each time asking me several questions to verify who I am.

But there are some good Reps and good folks in the MEC. Contract 2012 could have been much worse. I think the compromise reached in section one was a win / win. (disclaimer I voted no because I did not want to breathe new life into DCI and the 717 appears to be at best an interim move ... I am concerned about 2015 with Pinnacle at the table and and the C Series on the table)
There will be a marked political change in "what matters" when we start hiring pilots who already have a decade's experience in ALPA. As with our 2007 hires, most will box considerably above their weight simply because only a few pilots nearing the end of their career are willing to be as engaged as those on this web board are.

Change In Subject
Let's change the subject.
How about this rumor. I've heard it from more than one place.
Delta is going to run a category within a category in the ATL 76. It seems that they are having trouble keeping everyone theater qualified. So, they are going to divide the category into international with theater qualifications and a second group, now wait.....domestic only.
How brilliant is that? I hear that DALPA is cool with the arrangement.
No idea how they will handle reserves.

Thanks bucking!
I am in the twin cities and insure at least 40 pilots among our clientele. What I want pilots on here to be aware of is that not all insurance is the same. I suggest finding a Independent Insurance Agent. Independent basically means the agent has access to several companies. Why not get quotes from 10 or more carriers at once. Be honest with the agent and tell them what you own ( don't forget the 100 acres of hunting land, atv's, etc).
Try to avoid a call center/service center type operation. When Richard answers the phone he is most likely not a licensed agent. In Minnesota only 1 person is required to fully licensed ( I equate it to the FAA maintenance shops in Asia) chances are you will never be able to find Richard again when he tells you something was properly covered only to find out it wasn't.
I could go on-and-on but I try to avoid boring the pi$$ out of my fellow pilots. Good luck and make sure everyone discusses a 1 million umbrella with their agent and not a call center! A million umbrella can be had for approximately $150 a year.
FTB I wasn't sure if you directed the question to me but a few things you can do is check with your states department of commerce to see what complaints exist against a company. Many times the horror stories you hear are not so much company related it rather agent related. If the policy is written well and coverage's applied correctly it really leaves very little wiggle room. I believe most issues with the insurance industry could be avoided if the agent or call center would have taken the time to know the insured and actually act as a advisor rather the best rate at all costs. The best rate at all costs often means coverage's were left off to get to the rate the customer wants.

Car loans are even easier. Not sure how much lower you could get than 2.99%...
