I just booked "one great team" tickets and the process is lengthy and convoluted

right now it's

45 days in advance or less
telephone only
T-class fare is the only available option
10 seats per aircraft limit
must travel with the other person
can't be combined with family member pass travel or Jumpseat...
Must pay taxes and fees for international
no kiosk check-in because the bag fee is waived
lap-children pay taxes but need no ticket
must be a "legal" Delta itiniary no quick or long connections
NW or DAL metal only, no codeshare or JV carriers
any change once booked is $100
forfeit ticket if you miss the flight

BTW the whole telephone process is all NWA even the confirmation email

Cheers
George

capn,
I don't know for sure, but I'm almost certain the tickets are only good on domestic flights.
Anyone else know the real details?

I'm all over that...however that involves a mutual understanding and working together on these issues....I don't see that at this point...

I'm being honest here Joe, I can't help it if my first airplane was a DC-10. And after flying a DC-10 for eight years making up to 6 digits, that I really don't want to go work for your commuter airline making 20 ... 30 grand? You wouldn't either. And as long as the majors are recruiting me to work for them, that's where I'm going.

Why is it that many civilian pilots can't respect the 8 - 10 years that we military pilots put in and they feel that we should start at the bottom? Where is this entitlement that the list for a major starts at their commuter company? Makes no sense to me. The military AND the civilian commuters are BOTH stepping stones to the majors, but the list starts at the major.

<opening up a can of worms>

FATBOY,
Who said we are bitter? We have many military pilots at ASA...That wasn't my point and you jumped the gun....

Some military pilots, maybe yourself included, believe a military pilot should start right at the mainline/majors....I'm not going to debate that issue...simply going to ask you a few questions about that line of thinking....

1. What about the military pilots that are at DCI?

and,

2. If the RJs are brought onto mainline, won't the military pilots have to start in the RJ anyway? I believe that is why SOME military pilots never really wanted a single list with all flying at mainline......

No, the tickets are good anywhere Delta goes - you just have to pay any international taxes.

I think the tickets's are good idea, but what's with no upgrading? Even as non-rev priority?

Did anyone notice that there are no SILs for October?

Seems odd that we had so many for September, but none for October.

He is full of so much information and was truly impressed with his views at that time..

I can also attest to this fact which I am guilty for..

When you are a junior FO at ASA you want as much flying to go to ASA as Delta will give. It meant more lines more planes greater schedule. At that time, I really didn't understand the fact that Delta pilots would be hurt in the long run....

Now Fast forward........

I am at Delta(Dreams do come true), and I wish we did more flying, wish more hiring, wish for more planes..for the greater good of Delta. Plus, I have alot of friends that I would love to see get the same opportunity at Delta.

I know my roots and I would love to see ASA do well, but not at the expense of Delta Pilots..

Joe Merchant..I got nuttin but love for ya and I understand you. Aside from Management and shceduling, ASA was great place to work.

Ok...done now!!!
Thanks Beer...I miss the ATR...Wish Delta would have kept them...

I'm not looking to take anyone's job...I would have been happy flying my ATR around making money for Delta.....Just a little sensitive to those who want to try and take my spot on the "little airplanes"...ALPA should have worked this out years ago...Instead they igored it until it got to this point.

I don't know when you left, but management is much better, and schedules are too...

Hope things are well with you....

Maybe they plan on taking that many offline for training with the latest displacement?

That does seem odd. I thought there would lots of SILs until next summer. Yikes. When are the SILs normally posted for bidding?
