Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

ALK is getting balsy lately. They either have the full and complete blessings of DL management to morph into a massive east coast long haul super hub DCI for DL, or they found SKYW's stash of premium seedless ego that they copped on the corner from IndyAir before they got busted by the man and rolled themselves a fatty.
DL could, and IMO should, absolutely crush them on these new routes without dripping enough red ink for anyone to even notice. This is a great example of code share abuse within a marginally otherwise acceptable code share. DL should pull its code on that flight as well as anything to any hub. They shouldn't get a blank check to hub raid us (or AA as well) on their terms with a waiting supply of another airline's pax on core routes that airline doesn't need them on.

I think this is good for us. Hopefully it causes mother-D to S or get off the pot in regards to Alaska (acquire them or compete with them).

Any alternate suggestions for wool pants? $100 at Abbotts is unappetizing.

I think that this is a power move on American's part. My guess is that they are pulling the strings on this and are pushing hard to have Alaska be exclusively a part of their alliance. This will further strain Delta's relationship with Alaska and force us to compete with them and hopefully retaliate.

According to our reps, Alaska is a necessary component of the Seattle hub. Without Alaska, our hub wouldn't be nearly as successful or as large-- we'd have to substantially downsize there. So I guess we are pretty much at their mercy as they tear into our route network. On a related note, I read where we are looking at reducing our Asia flying due to the strengthening Yen. I'm sure it has nothing to do with codeshares, JV's, or lack of widebody aircraft. Yeah, it's definitely the Yen.
