The flight is planned for Delta using a slot purchased from Alitalia.

One of the first things they told us at the P2P meeting was, "Don't put this stuff on the forum, and if you do post, don't tell anyone you are a P2P person..." I just got a P2P email yesterday and the first line was, "Not for public disclosure."

So W. T. F. is that all about?

Legal liability.

They tell you that if you, as a "Dalpa Person" say something in public, like, "We're mad as heck and we're not going to take it anymore..." It could be used against DALPA by the company in a lawsuit, and they point to our C2K lawsuit (the 49'rs) as proof.

It's like we are all on double secret probation.
It has more to do with three kids under the age of six, two income household, and being really busy other places.

IMO, this thread is awesome, and I read it when I can, but it needs to get back on the issues, and not snarking back and forth. The constructive posts need to return. It is what gave this thread its staying power.

The primary issue is accountability.

Preliminary information is good to know but often inaccurate. Often this sort of information comes from management who might have to take a different course as a result of the competitive environment or unanticipated events. Publication, either by forum posts or in print, makes people accountable. No need to take on more responsibility than one has to.

PBS desktop bid program need to be reprogrammed to reflect the days available for each month with the new 30/31 schedules. It doesn't reflect well which months have one day cut off and which have one day added in the bidding side. The Calender shortcut does show what days are in the bid month, but be nice if the bids side did as well.

This will not be popular, and I'm not going to do it, but just wondering how does one bid for more days on call for increased RSV guarantee, and more SC for the same?

I agree with you. To me, this thread is like mental dessert. It's just a place to get some info, humor, underboob, snarkiness, SWA bashing, ALPA bashing, etc. It's a chat board at this point.

We'd really LIKE some stuff to crow about - something like HIRING. Which I think is really just around the corner, but I thought that last year.

There is a ton of truth in FlyZ's post just two ahead of yours.

Bless his heart that he still commutes to DC.
Are these Delta pilots posting here or are their teenage kids posting for them.

When you are required to travel for business, the business pays for it. When you layover in a hotel Delta pays for it. When you take a van to get to the hotel Delta pays for it. When you take a soda pop from the galley Delta pays for it. When you get a crew meal on an international leg, Delta pays for it at the same time they are paying you per diem. When you go to training Delta pays for the hotel, the simulator, your meals. In fact, even if you live in Atlanta Delta still pays for a hotel.

No one forced you to take this job, so you should just shut up and quit complaining and accept anything that is handed to you. Right? Isn't that the next logical step in your argument.

These arguments are laughable. The ALPA President is required to travel and stay in Washington. He needs a place to entertain guests, sorry but that is the way Washington works. ALPA reimburses him for these expenses that are required by his job. They are not extra income. He also leases a car, the exact same car that he drives at home. He is reimbursed for those expenses.

You can turn any of these stupid arguments that you guys bring up here and turn right on their heads and use them against you. Nobody forced you to work for Delta, nobody is forcing you to stay at Delta so shut up or quit. How does that feel?

Grow up.
