Reading the tea leaves, Delta's got a really good year ahead of it.
- Delta is executing very well on delivering the promise of safe, efficient & comfortable to customers.
- United Continental just updated investor guidance that their costs have increased 11.4% to 12.4% year on year, as well as a first qtr loss of .90 to a buck fifty a share. Once US Air / American gets rolling my guess is their costs will increase by more than UCAL's. Richard Anderson's statement that we have a significant lead on the industry is starting to resonate true with the data.
- US Oil production looks to be on a positive trend. Supply, as well as being able to manage the crack spread better than anyone else, is our friend. Articles are starting to point out the price levels the middle east suppliers have to have to remain cash flow positive. Could it be decreasing oil prices could help us not only reduce costs, but also help us by reducing subsidies to State run airlines?

So will airlines start towing aircraft to the runway at airports with long taxi times?
In APA's third scenario, the airplane is towed to the holding spot and does not arrive to that spot on its own power. In that scenario, the time spent towing the airplane and the time that the airplane spends at the holding spot would not be flight time because that time occurs prior to when the aircraft first moves under its own power.
