It looked to me like a couple of the guys on the bench might have passed out! They just fell to the floor and didn't get up.

WARNING: It's gruesome, so if you get queasy you probably don't want to watch. The kid suffers a compound fracture.

Kevin Ware BREAKS HIS LEG | Louisville vs Duke | March 31st, 2013 - YouTube

Yowza!!

What on earth is wrong with those people? They all backed away and sat on the ground looking away not wanting to help? I can understand a couple that might get queasy, but that's your teammate... go help. It's just a broken bone and the poor guy is going to be out for a long time, if not career ending.

I really wish I had never seen it. I'm like johnso29 - I don't think I have the stomach for that sort of thing. Once was enough! Amazing kid though, still pumping up his squad while on the stretcher...

Yep... and and only a few feet away from the fans as well.

Wow, well, I guess his team mates stepped up for him, they blew out Duke in the end. My cable on CBS is still out, but I just saw the final score, 85-63?? Wow.

It had been a 1-2 point game most of the first half, when my cable went out it was about 45-42, I never thought Duke would collapse like that.

I'm amazed it doesn't happen more often though, those guys are so tall, their lower legs are so thin, and they play hard all the time. It looked like a huge side load when he landed and it just snapped. I hope they can put it back together for him, but the way it was flopping around, didn't look good.

I can't remember but did Joe Thiesman ever play again, after his leg snapped? I'm sure they have much better technology in the medical reconstruction field by now, so maybe they can put him back together and Ware can play again, but man, that was nasty!
Thiesman never played again. Hope this kid can.

Well, I got no dog in the fight, I just like to see a good, close game, and it was...for awhile. Coach K's been around a long time, I figured his boys would hang with Louisville to the end, oh well. Back to hockey!

How old was Joe T. when his injury happened? Rick Pitino post game said a football player suffered the same injury and was back in one year. The kid is young, so I think his chances of bouncing back are good.
