Max,

I guess it's obvious by your avtar and handle that you're a MaxJet refugee. It's good to see that at least some of you guys are getting picked up, and relatively quickly. Welcome aboard.

I know you would be my hero!

What kind of beverage would you like?

I hope those LAX and SLC spots keep comming.

I'll also be willing to provide adult beverages for anyone senior to me in the 17th class who bids to allow me into CVG or ATL.

Default S2 vs S3

I just booked my first Non-Rev.
How do I use S2, it never asked me?

I'm assuming I'm on an S3 by default.
I'm guessing I can tell the gate agent "S2 me Baby" and then I'll get bumped in front of all the other S3s?

Appriciate the help.

Unless the gate agent's a huge guy who's nametag reads -"Tank!"
Then you might say "S2 me sir?" instead!?...

Sorry, it's Friday night and I'm drinking tea, what can I say!?

When you check in at the Kiosk it will ask you if you want to use your S2's or not? (Like you said it defaults to S3)

I think the S2's only work for mainline, but I could be wrong. Check out TravelNet and they've got a FAQ section about non-reving.

S2s work for mainline and DCI. From past experience I would not use my s2s, (limited) unless absolutely necessary. You have a limited number and if you non-rev a lot you may use then up and then not have them when you really need them.
If you request S2 status on a flight after you have used them up you will be charged a penalty fee.
Fortunately there's enough to do a couple of vacations and have a couple left over for commuting.

You have 6 S-2 flight days per employment year, meaning pretty much you have 3 roundtrip per employment year, counting from your date of hire.
