Interesting concept though. Girls might like the idea of using me for those hard to open beer cans.

Carl - was a double breasted van admiral, now a metal chested can opener.
But, Delta wants some semblance of uniformity. So, if we're gonna have hats...

Who gets the falcon? The CA or the FO? It kind of looks like the CA in that picture... the FO has 3 horns on one side, does the CA have 2 on each?

I'm just going to continue hoping that SD's memo had a typo and he forgot to change 2012 to 2013.

I didn't vote for C2012, but I hope I'm 63% wrong.

Agreed. And 3 is right next to 4 so...

Man how do we go from "widebodies and hiring on Friday" to "maybe they got their year mixed up"?

I give you 37% of the credit then for our stock prices 52wk high being double the 52wk low.

I gave the stock a lot more credence than C2012. I've hung on to that, and it has performed as I hoped. The company knows what they are doing.

My no vote reflected that the company knows what they are doing and those that pushed C2012 on us from the union side didn't (unless they were knowingly selling us short). So far, I feel pretty good on my betting.

...and widebodies and hiring on friday? Where was that? There has been a widebody order discussed for, well... 2 years now. And we all know about the apparent typo that SD made.

I do think the leaving of narrowbody vacancies beckons toward hiring (flowing/recalling) sooner rather than later.

This is because of Skywest's agreement with Delta that puts DAL employees behind Skywest employees on Skywest Inc. metal. On Pinnacle you will go S3 just as Pinnacles employees do, so DOH is the determining factor. All other DCI employees will go S3C on Pinnacle. I don't think S2s work at all on DCI anymore. At Compass we used to get six S2s per year and traveled S3 on DAL as well, prior to the sale. Hope this helps.

Cliff note version: You will be S3 on pinnacle (not S3C) and I'm 90% sure your S2 won't work.

JD,

Thanks. Just checked on Travelnet, S-3.

Delta Said to Study Order for $4.3 Billion in Wide-Bodies - Bloomberg
Got this from A.NET. Not sure the other article mentioned this but it's a potential order for 20 widebodies and 20 narrowbodies.

"Potential orders involve about 20 each of the planemakers' most popular families of jets - the Airbus A320 or Boeing 737 in the medium-haul, narrow-body class and the Airbus A330 or Boeing 777 in the long-range, wide-body category, the people said."

Maybe SD working on A320 type is so he can throw more hands on knowledge into the decision making from a personal standpoint.

It gets smaller when you look directly at it. It's probably best if you don't stare.

I think some of these would look good in Delta colors:

I'm on the 88 so the legs are not too long, and truthfully the FA jumpseat is better. At least you can stand. I also will sit in a cockpit jumpseat (as long as there are no other online, offline pilots trying for it) on a DH or PS to training if it helps get another non rev junior to me on.
I think you may have missed my point. I would never "predecide/pressure" my Delta jumpseater to sit in the back, either in a regular seat or FA jumpseat. My jump seat is open to all pilots, with Delta pilots having priority, of course. Once I have invited my Delta jumpseater to ride in the cockpit, the decision to ride in back is his/hers. Btw, I currently commute from/to ATL/LAX.

We are employed by an airline making record profits, and we're displacing 300+ pilots to lower paying equipment. Which will likely continue as 737-900's are delivered.

It's damn painful to watch my more junior brothers suffer through this kind of backward movement and stagnation. Especially when our "network" grows.

Carl
Hope nobody I'd too surprised as the 737-900 is mostly a replacement for 757's.
