Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
This makes me think maybe all the FOs will get the summer off hey?
For the foreseeable future, won't about 69% of all 717 flights have a LCA Capt in one of the seats, and another Capt in the other seat? Or an upgrading FO? Seems like during this intense training period coming up, you won't actually need as many FOs.

I agree that there will be at least a few people with the summer free to do whatever they want.
HERE WE GO...
Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL) is considering buying as many as 20 wide-body jets from Airbus SAS or Boeing Co. (BA) with a list value of at least $4.3 billion, people familiar with the matter said.
The order under study is for 10 to 20 Airbus A330s or Boeing 777s, said the people, who declined to be identified because the negotiations are private. Deliveries would start within a few years, one person said. Delta already has both plane types in its fleet.
Purchasing the jets would bridge Delta’s wide-body needs until the end of the decade, when Airbus’s new A350 and Boeing’s 787-10 Dreamliner will have been in service for several years and would have any kinks worked out, one person said. Chief Executive Officer Richard Anderson has said repeatedly he prefers buying established models with proven reliability.
Prices for the Airbus and Boeing jets vary according to the planes’ configurations. Airbus lists the A330 at as little as $216.1 million for the -200 model, while the 777-200ER is the cheapest in that family, at $258.8 million. Updated versions cost more, though airlines typically buy at a discount.
Delta signaled earlier this month that it might consider new twin-aisle planes, as President Ed Bastian said at a JPMorgan Chase & Co. conference that the Atlanta-based airline may find “opportunities in the marketplace selectively to add to our wide bodies.”
Bastian said Delta would talk to both Airbus and Boeing. Mary Anne Greczyn, a spokeswoman for Airbus, and Marc Birtel, a spokesman for Boeing, declined to comment on any discussions with Delta.
Delta had 717 jets in its main fleet as of December, 158 of them wide-bodies. Of those, 80 percent are made by Boeing. The A330-200 and 777-200ER seat about 240 and 270 passengers respectively and are among Delta’s largest planes.

FWIW..... my next door neighbor supports the 777 engine for delta told me today that DAL was looking at 10 777-lr's. I told him he was smoking crack. Maybe he wasn't. Hopefully you guys get em as additional frames
A split order seems more likely. It seems to me that DL would want one or the other if it had certain missions in mind, but a mix of the two would permit more flexibility, and since we already operate both types...
Well, by my count I have actually moved up 2 spots. This is the first time I haven't moved backwards since 2007 on an AE. So I'm hoping some of that cheer-leading I've been doubting was correct! In any case, this is sufficient reason to celebrate!
That pic of the Sierra Nevada (used to be my fav IPA) has me grabbing my keys, I'm off to the store to get some of that Torpedo to try out. We'll see how it goes with Jeremiah Weed, and I'll report back.
Anxiously awaiting a nice spreadsheet/graphic from FTB showing who all moved where and percentages etc.

It's just my opinion, but the LR is the most flexible plane I've ever seen.
