Maybe the N system worked differently and would be a better option.
I must be the only one who thinks it is wrong if this is the way its been done in the past. I stand by my argument though, I still believe it is an abrogation of seniority. It is Delta getting the job done cheaper by a AQFO, A small portion of the LCA have been outsourced to a lower bidder.

It's been that way since 1996.

I may be wrong, but I don't remember any 744B's in DTW being awarded on the recent AE's, so how did he get the award if he wasn't an instructor at 10k Sen? Look, I would like to fly that airplane someday, but I have to wait my turn in the seniority line like most of us. I am ok with that, more than Ok in fact cause that is how our system is supposed to work, its a seniority based system. I have it down as a pref for me, but it will be quite awhile before I can hold it. Whether or not he is counted against staffing is irrelevant IMHO.... Because he is flying it OUT of seniority!

To Much Good Ole Boy for me.

If the instructor did not live in base a hotel was provided, and you moved up a notch on the pass riding.

Only captains performed checkrides, sim instructors also did OE.
That sounds like a practical approach.

I would think that the sim instructing part was the worst part of the job.

It would seem to me that if this super junior guy is at the bottom of the category list, anyone senior to him (not fenced) should be able to MD into the category.

Not sure how it works but I believe when you cycle to the line you bid as if in category. So he's probably the plug on reserve.

That Employee Survey tops my list of the biggest waste of time items for 2013.

So Delta wants to tell the world that we are diverse, we love our jobs, and we love our leaders. Nothing on that survey will help any leader make this place any better. My 50 words or less input was to let each of us know how much we spent to hire a third party company to conduct a worthless survey for us.

This is true. Incidentally, they are offering "PTY4" today to any flight attendants who pick up a trip out of ATL. That's 4 hours of overtime pay for any trip that originates out of ATL, SAV turn, whatever. The FA's DO get overtime, just not in the same way we do...
