SDs weekly update I think mentioned 3 days or so. I'm going with 1600/22nd.

Jughead,

You are right. Something that would help over 90% of pilot's with the higher ALVs of the future vs something that helps for the most part locals senior in catergory. What was I thinking?

I'm local, but rarely see a GS because I'm very junior. I happen to live in base because I was born here, have kids in school here, and it generally makes my life a bit easier. That's the way it is.
I don't begrudge the system, because someday I assume I'll be senior, and expect the same realities will exist as they do today. This is a seniority-based industry, not a fair-based industry.

Sorry, but everybody's a winner - everyone gets a trophy - it's time for the rich to pay their fair share, gets old.

Nice political commentary at the end. Never did I say anything about taking from the rich, everyone being a winner or getting trophies. Your large forehead is making this harder than it should be to understand. Seniority is still in play. As a matter of fact, all of the locals whoring themselves out on WS would benefit by 1 1/2 as GS only come into play when scheduling is desperate. 2 time still could be a factor with short callouts or reroutes into days off.

There can stil be double time for inverse assignments or reroutes into days off. I'm sure the other half that don't commute won't like this though.
Good luck. Not happening anytime soon as GS is cheaper for the company. I would like 1.5 myself as it allows for better planning and less trying sharp shoot the open time.

Go ahead and attempt to orchestrate an effort and get this ball rolling. It's been done before. The results weren't very favorable (for about 49 guys), but I'd like to see you revive the attempt and fight the good fight, this time with more zeal.

This is a web board with varying opinions and beliefs. I don't expect you to agree with everything I say, just as I totally and completely disagree with your opinion. So don't take it personally.

Good day to you, sir.

I've got a simple solution, keep GS system and add 1.5x pay for flying beyond 85? Or is it 80? Screw it make it ALV.

Almost as old as "you'll be senior someday too".

Sorry, but everybody will not be senior someday. Mergers and 9/11s tend to change that dynamic. Plus, as long as we have vacation swap and swap board, seniority is and will continue to be abrogated.

There is a new dynamic at Delta continuing to emerge, it's called time value of money. The concept is that there is no DB anymore, so the tried and true "you'll be senior someday" doesn't necessarily apply. To the contrary, a DC plan rewards people for money earned NOW, not in the future.

The realities you are expecting are going the way of the dodo, the DB, 70 hour months. SWA, JB, Spirit, America West, and we have ensured that times have become a model of efficiency.

That will push me down 15 places, while pushing 15 off the bottom. Those bottom 15 will cascade down into other categorys, and push more out the bottom, all the way down to the 717.

That category may be entirely filled by MD's. At least they won't be seat locked for 24 mo.
I don't see how this can be true since they moved all the flying for CA's to the 7er. The cascade would stop there. There are 242 CA's slots and 145 displacements in ATL.
