I obviously have too much time on my hands.

If you need to get from MCO to ATL it should be pretty easy this weekend with all the ferry flights running.

Troubles Logging in?
Passwords are case-sensitive when logging on to the alpa.org website. If your first attempt does not succeed and you have any alpha characters in your password, please try your password alternatively in ALL CAPS or all lower case. Below are some other questions concerning login to the ALPA website which may assist you.

I forgot my password! Now What?
If you have forgotten your password please access the “Forget Password” link so that you can request it. If you previously setup a password reset profile, you will be prompted to answer the questions you provided. Upon answering your security questions, you will be given the opportunity to reset your password.

What can I do if I don’t have a Password Reset Profile?
Contact the ALPA Help Desk at [email protected], 888-359-2572 x HELP Once they get you squared away setup or change your password reset profile by following the “Forgot Password” link and choosing the “Create/Edit My Profile” option.
Can't Login/Blank Page/No Web Boards
As a result of the new login process there may be some lingering cookie conflicts from the previous login method. If you are experiencing this please try clearing the cache/cookies/temporary internet files of your browser and then restarting the browser and trying again before contacting the ALPA Help Desk.
What Do I login with?
The Username to login to the ALPA website member's only area is your ALPA member number or your "Alternate login".

When using your member number you must input all seven digits including the leading zero (if any). You will also need to exclude the hyphen from the member number. For example, member number 123456-7 would be entered in as 1234567. Staff can use their 4 digit staff number.

If you have an alpa.org email address you can also use that as your Username. You should also use the password for the email address as well.
What is an Alternate Login?
An Alternate login is a username you can setup to use instead of member number. While your member number can still be used, the Alternate login allows you to setup a username that might be easier for you to remember.
How Do I set up my Alternate Login?
To setup an Alternate login for your existing account access helpdesk.alpa.org and choose the “Change My Password” link. From there you can follow the Alternate Login option. Note you will need to first login before you can setup an Alternate login.
Can I login even though I am not a member?
Only authorized members and staff can access the Members-only portion of the ALPA website.
Does the ALPA website require any special settings on my browser?
You should have cookies and pop-ups enabled as you browse the ALPA website. Without these settings enabled you may not be able to login and/or access certain parts of the website.
Thanks man. Got it to work.

Well, now its come out that the next bid will be spaced out at least as far as normal... what do you have to say about that and your decision to consider one clear and one not so clear?
I also find some (most?) of Johnson's comments unlike any person of his seniority (assuming he is actually a pilot and not someone hired by Ford/Harrison and Glen Campbell) to routinely come on here with his barrage of now over 11,000 posts, to realign peoples thinking. He just seems really out of the norm compared to all others I talk to with his seniority. Things that make you go hmmm.

Considering I find his posts rational and well thought out, that doesn't say a whole lot for a fairly sizable seniority demographic, who 6 years ago could have left and been Captains at Virgin America if they hated Delta or NWA so much. Oh what's that you say? They're making more in the right seat here?

I'm gonna start calling anyone hired between 2000-2008 the "broken promise" generation.

That tinfoil is going to get a bit itchy. I know johnso personally, and he's a good guy. He's a regular line pilot like most of us on here.

Good deal.

The items were interesting, but all rumor IMHO. I won't believe it until I see it executed and happening.

Regardless, its better than speculation and rumors about fleet closures, base closures, displacements, and projected corporate losses..........

Johsno is a pilot here. I know who he is (I'm guessing he knows who I am also). I wonder about his posts sometimes, but he is definitely a junior line pilot. I will vouch for him on that.

I remember saying, along with others, the timing was suspicious in that it came i believe a week or two after the TA was announced. If hiring was going to happen why wasn't it mentioned on day 1?

But I was chastised, of course we are going to hire.
I agree fully. None of the triggers failed. Sailing can say what he wants about mil leave and early-outs, nothing in the macro environment prevented hiring, and the company is smart enough to input mil leave and early outs into the equation. If not, they should be smart enough that they don't know enough about mil leave and early outs, and therefore can't predict hiring. SD knew what he was doing. It's not an egregious act, or evil, just... business.

As for the explanation that the Board doesn't want hiring... that makes perfect sense. It also makes perfect sense for SD not to take the Board for granted when he made the statement.

We all know what happened; let's put on our big-boys pants and recognize an non-binding sales argument when we see one.

I don't know who he is in person, but on APC he's a clear-thinking guy, and he seems to always let logic and facts trump philosophy. In other words, he may have a slant, but he seems to be willing to be proven wrong when he's wrong. I also don't see him slander and ridicule people.

Golden Rule + flexibility + logic = great in my book.

I guess we shouldn't judge a guy if he wants to wave pom-poms and dress in a cheerleader skirt. Is he a size 2 or 4, do you think?
