Does ATL-NRT often weight restrict? Had a friend yesterday that was trying to get on the 744 to NRT and it showed 50 open seats. No nonrevs got on. Is this normal? Is DTW-NRT a better option? What is the best strategy for the return to the US from NRT? Thanks!

My friend who is a USAirways 76 Capt told me the gate agent announced the flight was "weight restricted and no nonrevs would clear." She was a bit baffled. She and her husband were trying to get to Thailand. They still made it I believe by going the long way around through Europe on Lufthansa. I told her I would research it for her so she could plan their return.

I agree with that. For the longest time I held the same percentage in category, but now im finally moving back. Of course, I used to hold a line on the ER here in ATL, I don't think I've ever been able to hold the ER since being displaced.

None whatsoever. I went back and looked at the cleared list. It showed that there were 2 PSUP's (would guess DHD crew) cleared and 2 revenue upgrades but no nonrevs were assigned seats. It shows 4 nonrevs "awaiting seats" and never cleared. 1 S2, 1 S3, and 2 S4's.
