Found it on the first page...

A potential widebody order, huh?

I'm going to add that I think this lends a little weight to the 747-400 rumor. Mainly, because it seems like they are talking about near term AE's to staff for the order.

Is there a chance we could take delivery of 777's within the next year or two?

Is that from the same guy who said,

"If this T/A passes, we may need to hire in the 4th quarter of 2012"

Could you name those sources other then forums. The people working in DC say its not even being talked about or on the FAA's radar. There is no mention that ICAO is considering any change. Where are you hearing its about to happen?

You are going to be stuck with those boring Atlantic crossings since your new PWA protects the block hours Delta Pilots fly between the two countries. Sorry to give you such bad news.

The same PCL that is loosing 100+ aircraft worth of flying in the next 2 years?

You state we have lost as many as 1000 jobs. Where are the massive displacements to support your numbers? The last two bids had a substantial net increase in Captains jobs. The bid to be posted next month should have a net increase in Captains of well over 100 jobs. How do you explain that if your numbers are even remotely right? Put some numbers up, show us where you get 1000 or more jobs lost.

83 Net Captain positions with numerous NB aircraft on order. Glad that I didn't save the good champagne for this bid!

Pretty Lame

Scoop

Sailing and another guy from the Dalpa forum,Curly, are in the top 1000. They mean well but they are so out of reality...
I expected 120 new Captains positions on this bid. That was before the last minute decision to move up the DC9 retirements so accounting for that the bid was about what I expected. The last two bids added a net of 115 Captains so we have now added 200 new Captains positions since the TA. I see nothing in this bid to support your assertions that the contract is causing the displacements. We were overstaffed for FO's before the TA and overstaffed now. We were staffed better on the Captains side and have seen nothing but increases in Captains. If there were hundreds of jobs lost to the contract we would be displacing not adding Captains system wide. This bid is just one bid. They anticipate more bids as the year progresses. Overall its about what I expected. The nines included changed the net Captains substantially but if not this bid they were leaving on a bid next fall.

Are they?

Delta just signed a deal with non-ALPA Republic for a dozen fresh 50 seaters with new engines, paint and maintenance paid for by us.

Indeed. Also of note is no mention of a future DTW 717 base, like in previous bulletins. Hope its just an omission.

Running some back of the napkin numbers I think the bloodbath is going to be worse than forecast. Without waterfall MD's 82 DTW F/O's get bumped out of base to either ATL or NYC. Of the 73 320/DC9 A's, according to my rep, only ~25 are commuters, so there is possibly 50 A's going to WB F/O and more waterfall MD's that will eventual land in ATL/NYC.

It's only a net loss of 30 pilots in DTW, but the demographics could cause a lot of mayhem system wide (on top of existing mayhem) I guess well have to see the SD/JG take on previously discussed future AE's negating MD's off this bid before training (color me skeptical)

Anyone want to take a guess how many lose their 8.5% pay raise?
