Yes there are a few guys on SIL's for the month of Sept. Go look at the Flight Ops Page, select Pilot Resources and Scheduling and look in the left column about half the way down. The numbers offered and awarded are there.
Not that many took it FWIW. A lot more were offered.

How about a Contract With Delta Pilots?
Something that the guys running can say, I believe in the Contract with Delta Pilots? Mind you, I'm just lifting this from the real political world so sorry for the cheesy name but the point is this, you put out some planks and someone can simply say, "hi, I'm running for office and I support the Contract with Delta Pilots." Does that make sense?
For instance,
I support the following:
1. That all jet flying for Delta should be done by Delta mainline pilots and I vow to recapture that flying in a practical and expeditious manner.
2. That Compass pilots shall remain represented by the Delta MEC.
3.... I've got to run. I didn't forget to bid last month, just forgot to bid right.

I have that pie in the sky idea too, but I am also a realist.
Do not promise something you know cannot be delivered.
Something that you can deliver is to represent your pilots to the best of your abilities, to communicate as openly as possible, to communicate in a timely and honest manner, etc.
Promising to restore something with one vote on the MEC is pie in the sky.
Now doing your best to put the desires of the pilot group you represent forward is something totally different.
In other words do not be a boneless chicken.

He was the MEC chairman when DALPA made the single biggest mistake in scope and increased the gross weight limits to allow the E-170/175 at connection carriers. He was not even facing a 1113 motion at the time.

And I agree. How about this:
1) I believe in strong scope,
2) I believe in a strong Delta,
3) I believe in road shows,
4) I believe in representing both the North and the South equally,
5) I believe in we should reopen DFW at all costs,
6) I believe in commuters, (and get this, I'm not one)
7) I believe in the DC9,
8) I believe in VNAV,
9) I believe the Shutdown CF checklist is laborious,
10) I believe rampers should make room for pilots on the bus, stand if necessary, because pilots rule the world really,
11) I will fight size 28 red dresses at all costs even if it means pay loss,
12) I believe that I shouldn't write lists.
I mean bland. And I'm just messing around but its just an idea almost like you have with the real political world, you know what Republican means, you know what Democrat means, sure some are luke warm and some are extreme when it comes to their parties ideals but you get the picture when you see (R) or (D). I would settle on just knowing who the scope hawks were and who weren't and I really need to get to work.

Which guy, RoughLandings or Moak?
One has a 4 year track record of delivering positive returns (including scope) to Delta pilots. One is a presumed Compass pilot posting under an anonymous pseudonym.
I suspect he's the same American MD-80 furloughee that misrepresented everything said there.... Instead of taking it up with his "facts" on our forum, he plays the cowardly game without accountability.

I think it's completely unfair for an anonymous poster to roast an ALPA volunteer by name. I'm not saying he wasn't accurate, because he may very well have been, but if you're going to call out someone by name on a public forum, you should have the courtesy and the courage to name yourself as well.
Ala ACL here are some dots I've been thinking about.
1. Moak wants to be Alpa National President
2. To achieve # 1 he needs the RJ pilot vote
3. To achieve # 2 he needs to bring RAH pilots over to Alpa
4. Achieving # 3 (via the National SBC commitee) will push the RJ pilots into the majority of alpa memebership.
5. In return for the RJ pilot vote LM will offer up the 100 seat jet as the merger/ reintegration of DCI flying to Mainline. Makes Mgmt, DCI pilots happy. Presumably mainline pilots will buy off on it if it solidifies the 100 seater at mainline.
6. To achieve #5 consolidation of DCI will have to happen. (It would appear the process has already started per RoughLandings post)
To wit...100 seat flying remains at Mainline....DCI pilots become Delta pilots....LM becomes National Chairman with the blessing of RJ pilots, and sub rosa suppport from Mgmt. QED
They're just dots. Connect or deconstruct at will.

My thoughts, exactly.
