quick sked question...
1 day left of bid period as a reserve line holder, then regular line holder next bid period. can skeds put a 3 or 4 day on your sked into normal days off awarded as a regular line holder? basically, they would use the one rsv day in this period and 2 or 3 of your days off awarded next bid period as a regular line holder...wouldn't at least those 2 days in the next bid period be GS?

Alright I'll go look at the numbers again but they have decreased in the last 6 months. What percentage change of a 200 pilot group would you call "stable"? If it dropped to 150 in April, would that still be ~200?
And now that I've looked, here are the numbers over the last year
3/12 - 323
4/12 - 310
5/12 - 318
6/12 - 312
7/12 - 293 (4/8/3/3 duh)
8/12 - 287
9/12 - 279
10/12 - 244
11/12 - 234
12/12 - 231
1/13 - 232
2/12 - 218
3/12 - 208
So that's a roughly 33% decrease. Or a 1% increase in total staffing as of the 3/13 category list.
Sorry dude. 244 is mid 200s. In fact we've only been in the low 200s since this month.
And now that I've looked, here are the numbers over the last year

6/12 - 312
7/12 - 293 (4/8/3/3 duh)

Your numbers for jan, feb and march are different than that of crew resources, so I'm not sure where you're getting your data. If you're looking at ALPA, their documents are up to a month and a half prior to the claimed date of category list. There is a 7 pilot increase of pilots out on MIL going into March. My point was simply that it is stabilizing and will find a new normal. It will not continue to go down to zero.
Let's see what the MAR update shows tomorrow for that and the projection for APR.

80' it's not excuses. The company was going to hire between 100-150 this year, that's it. Over 100 have come back in the last year, and it wasn't expected. The last couple of months have been a trickle, so I'll grant you that. The good news is that there are only 198 B's left. The A's are mostly General or Flag officers who may never come back. Some of the B's as well, as I flew with a Marine two star once. There are also just a few over 200 furloughees to come back as well.
It will be interesting how many furloughees do come back.
Like you said, there are a number of B's that are very senior military officers. Quite a few cycle on and off duty (tee hee) various times through the year.

I only looked at the Feb & March Seniority list. There was an increase from Feb to Mar for NBC MIL Bs. They went from 192 to 198. So in March I see 207 NBC MIL A/Bs.

Items are given up in every contract even the very best. Trades are made. There were lots of changes in reserve. No one posts about the good things. Over the course of my career reserve is the single most improved part of the contract by a big margin. We have progressed from 19 to 20 days on call 24 hours a day with 2 hours to report to the system we have today. It has ebbed back and forth over the years by the overall trend has been hugely positive.
I see where you are coming from, but I disagree with you using pre bankruptcy as a bench mark. Comparing where we are to where we were just last year is a better way to go.
If we extend your premise to the entire contract, it would be ok with you for us to take a cut in our payrates in our next contract. I mean as long as they remained above what they were after bankruptcy, right?
If it seems as though I'm picking on you, I apologize But, I really want to understand where you, alpha, pineapple, et. al., are coming from.
By the way, why is it that you believe that items have to be given up in every contract? Why do you say no one ever mentions the good things?

I've had the honor to bring a fallen soldier home to their final resting place twice (AF jet). Once was to Saipan. Getting ready to check in on the local VHF freq about a 100 miles out and heard them issuing holding instructions to a NWA744, then another aircraft who was #4 in line. I was wondering what was up, until I checked in--"you're #1, call field in site." they had the fire trucks out with the H2O salute on taxi in. Every vehicle on the island with a flashing light had to have been on the ramp. Family was waiting right behind the honor guard. Everyone on the jet was choked up. It really puts our petty gripes in perspective.
