Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
[/B]
Sorry for the thread creep! Sorry for the thread creep! What a preposterous statement. Thread creep to a post is like a genetic mutation to DNA - it is the vehicle that allows change, adaptation, evoloution, and ultimately survival.
Could this thread have survived if it was about one topic and one topic only? Would anyone want to read a "jillion" posts on one topic - it would be like homework.
I say follow the thread wherever it take us. Should it veer off course and take a detour not too popular amongst the regulars, say for instance a detailed discussion about the effectiveness of womens hygeine products, it shall unerringly be brought back on course by some juicy rumor, some supposed outlandish management proclamation, or dare I say it - some Noble gesture of DALPA (think Scope).
In a world without thread creep (said in that TV announcer guys voice) we would have thread stagnation. So do not bemoan the occasional humorous diversion, the seemingly unrelated sports bravado or the much too infrequent hot college babe pictures. Roll with it.

The voice out of DTW is not the problem. Dtw reps over the years have always been the most militant. While I have not always agreed with their stances, they tended to vote/voice what they felt was the best for the pilot group as a whole. Novel concept. Msp, being the master base tended to be more "company friendly" and the widebody bases were just flat out of touch when it came to the bulk(domestic) of the airline. ATL scares me more than msp though. Mainly because dalpa has historically been more amiable to the company needs vs nwalpa. And with the way chairman Mao, oops Moak seems to be able to negotiate/dictate deals with the company with no opposistion/discussion with OUR elected reps until it is too late, I think ATL being the gorilla base needs some fighters. Just my opinion and I am sure I will be tarred and feathered by the dalpa faithful spinmeisters but so be it.
There are several resistance members in ATL. We will let our presence be felt soon.

AE/Displacemnet Bid
Well, I just put in my preferences for this AE/Displacement Bid. Drum Roll Please.............
and the winner is? As they say, "Be careful what you ask for!" Good luck to everyone over the next few bids. It's going to be musical chairs and some of our lives are going to be in for big changes. All the same, glad to have the fNWA guys onboard and looking forward to flying with Ya'll.

That is the plan, but there will be some DCI growth as well. Whether it be in gauge or destinations.
IMHO, what is planned is for these cities to be served less frequently but with much larger mainline jets, giving us the ability to serve more cities. (The way we used to do it, the way we made money as well. Getting back to the core business principles IMHO)
As I stated last night, it keeps people on property now, and will speed up the need for bodies as we see a recovery.
IMHO this deal was started before the AAI, CAL deal. We just waited for the correct time to announce it!

We’ve heard that US Airways wants to sell their Embraer 190 jet fleet of 25 aircraft. Is there any truth to the rumor that we are considering acquiring these aircraft as more fuel-efficient replacements for the DC-9s acquired from NW?

Have not heard this, and we have no interest.
