Not to punch a hole in your collective bubbles, but the reason DAL doesn't do the flying is you can't compete with the Alaska frequent flyer program on the West Coast. What you're seeing is a FEW added flights to try to suck up some of the overflow. I'm sure Tilden and Anderson agreed to the plan a couple months back when they met in PDX to inaugurate your PDX/Amsterdam service.
And again when he came to SEA to kick off the new Asia service. Your boss is no dummy. He has no intention of seriously competing on the West Coast when he's getting the international feed for free.
But, you guys keep smoking that pipe dream that your LAX operation is going to change any route map colors. That GREEN in your Inflight Magazine is GREEN for a reason. Its MONEY pouring into DAL coffers without having to have metal and labor on the routes.

When bidding opens for April, you simply look in the upper right hand corner of the PBS (Navtech) page, there is a box for "Condition" I think it's called. When you click on that, it will list the date of your April Vacation, say, 8-14, with a box next to that, where you can enter the number of days, ie. 1-30.
Those are days you want to slide the vacation, not days of the month. So if you want to slide it over to the right, (later in the month) say 5 days, you put 5 in that box. That will move it to 13-19.
If you want to slide it backwards (earlier in the month), you put in negative sign, then the number of days you want to slide it, ie. -5 days would be five days earlier, or April 3-9.
As long as PBS is not in Unstacking mode when it gets to you, you should be able to slide your days. If you are at the very bottom, and your category is short, you may not be able to slide them if there are stacks on the days you want to slide it to, but if you are a mid level line holder, and your category is fully staffed, you should be able to slide it.
I'm right in the middle of line holders in my category but I was able to slide mine to cover Thanksgiving, Christmas and two weeks in Jan, over MLK weekend, and you know how hard it is to get that one off...
Good luck and if you have any more questions, call the PBS guys or JB or AZ directly, they invented it.
