Yes but it is closing in 15 months, how you bid it is also how you are taken off. AE's are processsed first then md's. Also if you know you want a certain plane and get it who cares about the seat lock. Also if you ae off you will be processed first which could put you in class in a few months, about a year earlier than being md off.....keeping the plane flying until May 2014. A seat lock would be half over by then and some may not want to go through the rough schedule possibilities of a dying plane. At least that is the way i generally understand it.

Possibly.......But their explanation about only being able to train so many crews a month, which is less than they need based on the aircraft delivery schedule. We'll have to see.

it's interesting to me. I can see 7 crews per 717 to cover deliveries and then the ratio dropping later. Same with the 737 with its deliveries. So yeah, "the 717 means 14 pilots per plane... but only while we build the category."

I just have a sneaking suspicion the 320 is headed towards the 88's number. The 320 has gone from 6 crews to 5.6 crews and there talking about getting rid of more FOs.

What is SWA's ratio of pilots to planes? Let me go look... apc says 6,327 pilots and 565 speed demon 737s. That comes out to 5.59 crews per plane vs the 88's current 4.8.

?

Bingo. Why people continuously fall for these things is beyond me.

Beware the Latency, like a call from the CPO if you are even one minute late! I had to go look at my rotation to see that we were late.

You guys must have missed this: "We feel like we can go through the entire spring and summer schedule without 200 qualified and current pilots in the DC9, MD88, 737 and 320."

No! Really?!

This is going to be weird....and wrong. Targeting the wrong employee group!

You got a phone call for a late out? Did "you reap what you sew" enter the conversation?

It was my first airline gig, and I learned to love it, but the flying was much different when I was on it. We rarely had more than three legs a day, and we'd usually have at least one decent long layover on a three day trip. Back-to-back 5 legs with sub 12 hour layovers would be hard to swallow. I know, I'm lazy.

I'm not a CA, but I've been doing this for three decades plus. Empower us to fly safely, ask us to do gate PAs and represent the company, I actually get all that and am board. NOW, we wait for all of the ACS elements to perfectly align (i.e., we can't canjole them into action as we almost always have to do), and WE'RE frikkin late?

No sir and no ma'am! Ain't us!
