Man I hope our beancounters make a mistake and pick up a bunch of these "MD-90s" for a song...
Just imagine, all the joys of McDonnel Douglas but engineered in Russia

Or is that a 'Nose First' refueling pod?
Do they refuel 69 style in Russia?
In 2015, Delta has the contractual right to require Skywest Inc to reset their rates to the point that Skywest & ExpressJet are the 2nd cheapest DCI operator. If Skywest doesn't comply, their flying can be terminated. Delta has created a whipsaw machine. I personally think 9E isn't going anywhere.

You're correct, when Pinnacle was in breach of contract, Delta simply stopped paying them the increased rates. That's what will happen here, Delta will simply start paying skywest/xjt a lower rate that is between hojet, and pimp-a-nickle. It will then be up to them on how to adjust to the rate reset; we went bankrupt.

GoJet and Pinnacle. Delta doesn't care who it's operated by. I'm thinking they could work a slow transfer out. JMO.
And the interesting thing is that about 6 months ago the mayor of Memphis went to ATL to see what could be done to ensure a continued presence of Delta's service. Well... duuuuh. It's just one more example of how the public feels we are a public service that is not allowed to make a profit.
That in a nutshell is why I don't have much sympathy for some of these cities. They want world class service.. they need to support the world class airlines. Give us some of the sweetheart deals that you offer SWA for gate spaces and such. You don't want to do that... we are entitled to go where we can make a profit, and playing on an uneven surface will cause us to leave. Like you said... You want low fares... fill in the blanks. Just don't cry when you have to go to ATL or ORD to go to Europe/SA/Asia instead of going to the local airport.

Any of you Delta guys care to guess why a couple Delta executives are now being sent to Pinnacle to run it? I know we are probably reading too much into it. They are probably there to slowly shut pinnacle down. But couldn't they just easily shut Pinnacle down with their current management in place? Is this how Comair was shut down? Just trying to get some opinions.
Will Pinnacle wind up with the same fate? I don't know, but so far the game is playing out the same.
