I thought Alaska was trying to take themselves private anyway. Kinda like what Dell is doing right now. I'm loosing money on that too, very angry.

You could pick up Hawaiian for less than 300 mil, while Alaskan Air is approx 3.3 BIL

Yeah, but how much debt would you be acquiring? That's like saying you can marry the hot chick for "free.". No matter how hot she is, there's someone out there sick of her sheet.

I had a nice trip that went into Mar, that ended with a DH in a close spot to home that allowed me to DH/commute directly home at a good time to make it to kid's events that day. It also ended with a layover in a city I wanted.

I just logged in and it now has the last day of trip, in Mar, laying over somewhere crappy, and the trip flying back to the base (so no deviate DH straight home, which is why I wanted it), and it gets in later.

Is this just the risk of accepting a carry-out trip? I feel kinda boofed here, there were several trips that came through Open time that would have been better than this, if I had known it would be changed...

Comments, while we wait for the bid package to show up via backdoor?
That's the gamble with * rotations. Sorry you got hosed.

I'll go out on a limb here and say that most of us are sick and tired of a constantly changing, dynamic block out time policy. (No later than D-0, no more than D-5, but not before Pre-Pushback Message, and only before the WDR, but, now, only when the aircraft is about to move imminently, hard focus on imminently/no standing definition of imminently).
Standing by for a flow chart........

I think the next big step is going to be towards reducing those scheduled block times, but make no mistake here gentlemen this is about cost reduction nothing more, nothing less. If they can improve the "latency" on the front end, then shaving off block times will follow without effecting our on time performance.

If the 4th floor wonder-kin can find a way to shave 5 minutes off of a majority of our flight block times, then that would translate to a significant cost savings from a labor standpoint. Just my two cents here, but I think that is the long term strategy. Just as they are looking at reducing the actual difference between transmitted block out time versus actual pushback, they are also looking at the difference between scheduled block time versus actual average block time.
DH...didn't the std text give the beacon to the Cpt?

If all Delta employees contributed their UHC Health Rewards dollars to buy Hawaiian, it would more than cover the purchase of controlling shares.

Interesting chart. My understanding is Delta pulled a lot more in January 13.

With how much Delta pulls out and how many little RJs there are running around, I think we finally have definitive proof that is not an acceptable method of scope control and airline planning.
