you don't think a pilot could run a major airline? why?

because they don't have the foresight necessary to handle the current airline industry?

or maybe they'd get run over in high stakes negotiations?

I'm just kind of curious why we shouldn't trust a pilot to run an airline but we should trust them to run our union and negotiate our contracts against the very same seasoned professionals that'd eat them up if they were the ceo?

of course with that in mind and with the way things are going right now ... i concede you have a good point.

My point exactly. DPA whines, but they provide zero solutions.

Perhaps, but it's unlikely we'd ever get a pilot into the fat cat club. Putting that aside, DPA can't change any of the things they constantly whine about. They lie non stop in their emails. Their most recent email had two huge lies.

1) They are no where near that close to calling a vote. Thousands of cards aren't even current.

2) ALPA can NOT ASSESS THEIR MEMBERS to cover any awarded settlements from the TWA trial. An assessment for that purpose must be APPROVED by a majority vote of ALPA members.

So no Tim Caplinger. We don't need to hurry and vote DPA in to avoid being assessed by ALPA.

I don't think Jack posted that link to comment on the DPA. At this point, I don't even think they are worth the debate.

I'm more interested in the reason why pilots couldn't hack it as a ceo of an airline but that we should blindly trust pilots to negotiate our contracts.

Can't speak to that one. I have no idea.

and i agree j, dpa is near death from self inflicted wounds, but what solutions have we seen from alpa about pinnacle or for the expansion of jumbo rjs or for doing with fewer pilots path we seem to be on?
