Why does Bar have to hoot and holler? Where the F are our reps? I know that you and ACL are not officially "in the club(I think March is when y'all get your mafia pinky rings)" but hope that y'all push for change vs getting pushed to look the other way. Good luck, we are counting on y'all. Might want to give my boy AA in SEA a call to start forming a more Pro-Delta Pilot coalition.

His point, I believe, is that this is where it starts (or continues in the opinion of some). The easy money is to take away promises to the vets. General's want their latest jets, battlefield armory, and ships, but the money is drying up. Where do they go to cover the bills? To the retirees of course. Congress blames the Pentagon's budget requests, and the Pentagon, well, they don't care; those 3 and 4 star retirements are secure, and the board positions on the defense companies are always ready for a new member. Remember the promise by a certain someone who not too long ago said he wouldn't be balancing the budget on the backs of veterans? Those who didn't laugh at that load of horse squeeze don't know who they're dealing with.

Hmmm. I have no idea what you mean, but if I bump into him, I'll pass along your regards.

Since Delta can now negotiate with other pilot groups, engagement with us is not nearly as important as it used to be.

Welcome to the portfolio guys.
There's no question this was done to us by ALPA national without any input from Delta pilots or their reps. Yet you sing of the virtues that being in ALPA supposedly brings us. So I have to ask you Bar: Should we still be glad to be members of an organization whose paid experts are the very people who remove us from the process of determining our futures? Has the point of diminishing returns been reached for you...yet?

It's not just retirees, though. Sequestration is cutting 10% of the DoD budget beginning this year, and I'll bet there won't be a deal to fix it.

Nice to have Carl back. I agree watch your 6 with ALPA. My experience with the lawyers from ALPA is pretty appalling. Spent 7 years at air willy and their defense of our contract and the concessions given to maintain our United Express contract at the time was embarrassing. Could have done better with a ambulance chasing attorney.

The lawyers aren't inventing the deception on their own though. Which makes the situation all the more bizarre and appalling. Why would ALPA leadership tolerate the circumvention of their largest unified pilot group? Globally, what's in it for them? That's what I'm having trouble seeing
