I ended up with the ever desirable middle Oct vacation. Couldn't even hold my usual ~Aug16 vacation for our anniversary.

Perhaps it'll be a good time to take the little one to Germany for his first experience of beer.

Looks like I didn't get any of my choices and was awarded both my vacation weeks during the primary awards, what a crock!!!! I'm beyond ****ed and wish there was something I could do, but knowing ALPA and Delta they will both send me to the other and or say it was my own fault for mot bidding enough choices.
In my eyes it shouldn't matter if I bid for one week or multiple as my only choice was for one of my weeks in the summer months, which I got although it wasn't one of my choices. Man I'm ****ed, I got burned last year b/c I only had 13 days and couldn't split them...learned it the hard way...now this BS

Get to know the vacation move up process. Just put in the bids now so you don't forget. Unfortunately for you, we keep our vacations so there probably won't be as many weeks available to move up to. Good luck.

The vacation move-up process is probably the least transparent process at the airline, and that is saying a LOT.

Get the number for the people who work vacations out of the bid packet. Call them and beg. That's the best you can hope for.

Dude. I know. I dread the days my kids are in school and I have to take vacations with everyone else. I love going to Destin in May and late August/September. It's awesome and seriously the place we rented was half priced.

Too bad flights aren't open in May and September. They're more open, but it's relative, they're less of them so they're still really not that open.

My poor kids, all they'll ever know of the airline industry is it's some weird place dada works. Otherwise, we vacation like the Griswolds.

When a guy leaves a category with his vacation, that week will likely open up in the category right? I suppose if a previously senior pilot moves in with a prime week he will eat that slot but not always.

I agree there is NO transparency in the vacation moveup process, that really needs to change......

That's not landing gear problems; it's supposed to do that.

They hang out the gear on one side to turn sharp. Throws off enemy missiles.

The C-5 guys learned that trick by watching Su-27 demos at Oshkosh.

You know at least Romney put the dog on the roof, didn't Clark tie the dog to the bumper?

Why, it pays the same as that non commutable 7 day trip worth 22.5 hours that you were going to bid anyway.

That little guy probably kept up for a mile or two...

You know, if my dog had the Hershey squirts, I'd put him on the roof too.

I wouldn't eat him.
