Wow.

3 of 4 Administration officers were reelected. The only one that changed was the Chairman.

One of 2 EAs is still there. Only a couple of committee chairmen didn't stay. Roberts was elected November 15. He didn't have a transition meeting for his new team until December 19. In fact some on the MEC still don't know who his new team members are.

Is this the level of integrity that we can expect from the new administration communication?

Rumor has it...

So are you saying you took your files? Or you don't like the use of the word "rumor."

Guys, lets at least try to maintain a veneer of anonymity. Also, thanks to both of you for taking thankless jobs.

I don't know Scambo. Maybe it's just me, but I find all this to be just... sad.

Someone please tell me this is a joke!? Tell me we don't have people that are affiliated with one administration trying to out people from another, and tell me we don't have alleged Comm Chairmen also masquerading as anonymous users, both taking pot shots at each other, like some vicious, jealous teen-age cheerleaders competing for homecoming queen.

If only our various union politicos would expand the same energy defending the pilot group's interests, as getting into this Montague-and-Capulet crap. Why don't you guys show a little dignity, and maybe behave like adults? Look at the things being alleged: the outbound group pouts and doesn't share, and the inbound groups sits on their ass for a month. That"s the outcome of these elections?

Isn't there serious business at hand?

I'm sorry Shiz, but this made me laugh. I heard this years ago when the first crjs showed up. They were sold to the membership as developing the routes for mainline...how could that go wrong?

Zackly!!

The perception (which may be reality) is that the council chairs really are not subject matter experts (SMEs), but instead some pilot shirt that gets briefed by the salaried employees who have their own empires to build and maintain. The pilot shirt then becomes external to the organization except to be the (theoretical) SME (face) to the pilot group.

The teenage girl thing is a great analogy. Recall the A330 crewrest email chain. Sheesh, what a bunch of "thankless, tireless" work for the Delta pilots.

Right, Scambo. I've met some of these guys over time, and many I have respect for in terms of their intelligence and capabilities. I actually think highly of the guy I believe is on here as Alfa, based on the ALPA forum, and his work for the group. But when it comes to the rivalries, and some of the nonsense that they find important, I'm unimpressed.

I think a lot of it is still an extension of the NvS mentality, and maybe a clash of MEC cultures, and how one group had a gravy train, and is upset at the fact another group is riding a different kind of gravy trains, but frankly, the average pilot doesn't GAFF about MEC culture issues, and doesn't ever get to see a gravy train even go by.

Add to that a sort of apathetic approach to supervising our union, and you don't know which is the chicken or the egg: the dismayed line guy, and the union guy that feels completely free to get engrossed in... whater this is.

We get what we deserve, I suppose.

You've finally written something on which we can agree.

so it looks as if you guys are buying us, we are either the next comair, or the next destroy, rebuild and sell for huge profits. I have always wondered this question, maybe someone can answer it for me. I am not suggesting that this should happen or that we even deserve it but what is the difference lets say between delta buying alaska and delta buying pinnacle. Both have unions but in one case it would trigger a pilot seniority list integration and in the other it does nothing. What does your scope clause say about this or does nothing happen because one is a regional? Its just a question that I have always been curious about. What is ALPA nationals position on the matter? Also, please dont view this post as a regional punk just trying to get to mainline, Im just trying to understand policy in these situations.
