How do you know who's who on an anonymous board?
I assume it's anonymous, since I don't suppose this OP would call any other poster an ass in person.

I've been impressed with several Reps who have been working hard on this issue.

You were suggesting they're not DALPA. I was suggesting we wouldn't know, on an anonymous board, would we?
Either way, all three deserve what all posters deserve, which is a modicum of civility. And either way, I wasn't really taking exception to your comment, but to the Gratuitous Bird.

Depends on verb tense.
We are all DALPA guys. We are members in good standing and the union works for us.
I appreciate their input because they usually bring the consensus view of ALPA and Delta Air Lines leadership to this board. Without their involvement there would be a lot less to debate. They are also gentlemen who are well educated on the issues, although they sometimes run trial balloons past the shooting gallery to test what is perceived to be enemy anti aircraft emplacements on this board. We shoot, give away our position and the spin machine figures out a course around us.
Somehow it sort of, works.

From latest MEC mailing:
The Numbers
DL Codeshare Passengers on Alaska Metal Flights
For Q1-Q3 2012, Delta placed 466K Delta (DL) codeshare segment passengers on Alaska (AS) metal. The full year 2012 contribution is estimated to be around 621K passengers.
AS Codeshare Passengers on Delta Metal Flights
For Q1-Q3 2012, AAG placed 319K domestic segment passengers on all Delta metal flights. The full year 2012 contribution is estimated to be approximately 425K domestic segment passengers.
Not exactly even is it?

I claim they're not DALPA posistion people because they claim this much. I guess that's worth different values to different people.

When I think about airlines merging, and when I was thinking AMR couldn't possibly be dumb enough to take on LCC, I was trying to think of what pieces might fit in their puzzle. I thought perhaps Alaska might be a great offensive move against us, akin to our attempt on JAL. For similar reasons.
Having lived on the West Coast, and considering Alaska's brand recognition, I still think we do far better with them, than without them. For starters, I don't think we'd be as succesful if we merged and dumped the brand. This makes me think it would be that much harder to start from scratch to overcome the brand. Of all the evils, the codeshare seems to be the least.
Whether the % are fair, is another question.
As far as this latest announcement... tying this into the SEA not-hub-hub is annoying marketing. It serves to blurr the picture and rub salt on our wounds, but the nature of the Alaska wound is often exagerated. Of course, if it's that great, couldn't we at least feed it with mainline, from LAX to SEA? Does that market not deserve the varsity team?
