No kidding. Now I want to go looking for it but I'm afraid a mechanic might see me and assume I'm admiring my own handiwork! Guess I'm just not very observant because, other than the various flipper comments, the only thing I've seen is a lame reference to the headset jacks being chopstick holders.

The FAR's would beg to differ. While on mandatory rest you are free from ANY and ALL obligations to the company, to include ANY and ALL telephone or other availability.
So the "mandatory" 9 hours prior check is ILLEGAL. Both scheduling and DALPA will try to talk you into doing this but if you press the issue and point out that it is illegal, they back off. If they don't, call the FAA and tell them you have a mandatory obligation to the company within your 24 hour mandatory 30 in 7 rest period and see how far they want to take it in the name of "productivity".
Stay legal.
Don't set people up to get themselves handed a no show because they read what you wrote. It's simply not the way things are done. Never said I like it, or support it, because its a massive detriment to my quality of life, but it is, even if you whine about it, the way it is.

Considering the two primary DALPA guys are out of a job, it will be a bit more subtle from now on. Karnak pops up here and there, but that's about it.

You'll still have Tanstaafl (the great communicator) Nu, ACL and host of "new" ALPA boys like Sailor on here to bash. With your "varsity" comments and previous DPA support, I know we can count on you for entertainment.
It's a shame that the "ignore" function doesn't work for intemperate "moderators" like it does for your drank id.

And those cap gains taxes are just part of it. Dividends are gonna essentially be treated like regular income so those damned rich people have to pay their "fair share" too. That and the additional 3.8% on practically everything... sorry for the digression. And it's funny, but I don't really feel rich, but I am really dreading my annual accountant visit.
