Elvis;

Many Christmases ago, I was on the long El Paso layover - which provided my 24 off in 7 so I could be further "used." I went downstairs for the brunch buffet, and was la di dah-ing in line when I realized that Johnny Resnik was immediately in front of me with the rest of the Goo Goo Dolls in front of him.

Very nice people, small hands, smelled slightly of cabbage.

I am not a star struck guy, but at the time, they were my favorite band. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting them.

Ya never know.

Scambo, cool, I'll look for somebody famous downstairs. Good news is that tomorrow I'll exceed ALV and have the rest of the month off.

And for those of you looking for food, always remember the Chinese restaurants are open...

Ah Jean Shepherd... a classic! (also narrates the film)

My dad spent some of his formative years in Northwest Indiana not far from Hammond... and he probably laughs the loudest at this movie. Jean Shepherd also made a lesser known TV movie along the same lines called "A Great American Fourth of July and Other Disasters"... worth a look if you can find it anywhere.

His best known book 'In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash' is a collection of short stories and is good for some laughs if you appreciate the movie...

Years ago I had a 13 hour layover in Albuquerque. I walked around the backside of the hotel and lo and behold..........sitting there was the "Girls Gone Wild!" bus. They had a big party down in the bar that night. Unfortunately I had an early go the next morning. Come to think of it that early go might have saved me a lot of pain and heartache.......

Hopefully, enough pain and heardache that you had to call in sick for the next morning, and not derail every young and middle-aged man's dream across the land, right?

So the Girls Gone Wild bus was there... Go on?

Passing through MN, I read one of the local papers a passenger left on board.

Apparently, a 66-year-old FA just retired after 46 years at NWA/DAL.

So I guess the average age of our FAs increased a little. When are the older gals going to retire?
