It really doesn't matter that we can convince ourselves that this was an outlier (and I do agree that this was an outlier. I also agree that he shouldn't have been flying with Ebola-like symptoms).

It matters how this plays with the general flying public, and how it affects our reputation. Like it or not, their perception is their reality.

I'm embarrassed because, in this day and age, Delta has done a miserable job of empowering our front line employees (i.e., FAs, gate agents) to insert some common sense into the operation.

Common sense = sacrificial lamb to the D-0 gods.

FTB, you have sinned. In penance you must let Christopher Walken read your children their bedtime story ...

No, they never asked and he never offered.

Seems to me the Skywest deal for the MRJ90 is going to be similar to the debacle called Independence Air as far as our connection flying is concerned.

Am I right about this? Once Skywest takes delivery of an MRJ90 (the way it currently looks), won't they (Skywest and Delta) lose out on their DAL connection flying?

Sure, my Android had some issues. But overall, the Android system is vastly superior in so many ways. The iPhone iOS is really bad and boring. The lack of Google's mapping software (Google Maps, Local, Street View) is the iPhone5's downfall.

The reason why I voiced my opinion is what Johnso mentioned. I have found that when trying to place the cursor mid sentence or in the middle of a word, it is almost damn near impossible on my iPhone. I have to tap or press over and over and over before it selects. It is very frustrating. I have the same results on a friend's iPhone. It could be my fingers haha.

The only thing I like about the iPhone are some of the functions that Siri makes easy (say "directions to Orlando" and boom there they are). However, that Apple Maps is the biggest fail ever in smartphone apps.

If the Samsung GIII goes Global Ready on Verizon, or if the new HTC Droid DNA gets a bigger battery, I will pay the extra money to switch. I believe the only reason why the iPhone is relevant today is because of the cult following that Apple has and that love affair is slowing growing cold. Apple needs a major overhaul to their iPhone which was once game changing but IMO is below average.
My GS3 just went Global Ready with the JB update on Friday - check it out. Verizon is not too bad with the 22% Delta Discount (although I have a grandfathered plan - not Share Everything - I find the new plans quite expensive). I would also check out the Razr HD or Maxx when you check out the GS3.

Several times recently I have had to ask to borrow her phone to make a call. Its seems apple has better reception.
Sailing - couple of points (I'm on VZW with the G3).
1. Samsung has a rep for poorer radios.
2. To fix it using a free program called Phone Info (you can also change it somewhere deep in the menus) is turn off LTE and go with CDMA (auto Prl) - it greatly increases signal reception on my G3. If you're doing something where you really need LTE (download maybe - even the slow 3G (1-2 MBits) is good enough for most things). Not so great to have an LTE phone that you have to turn off LTE but it works for me.
