Off Topic:

Anyone have any recommendations, or horror stories will do also, on the purchase of an 3-D, LED TV, w/ 240Hz refresh rate?

Looking for a dependable, 55" or 60" with above features. A fan of Samsung, but have seen good reviews on the brand "LG". So decided to come here to learn from a place where everyone is an "expert"!!

Thanks in advance for the replies.

P.S. Notice the two "laughing" emoticons behind the comment of "everyone being self-proclaimed experts". Nobody take that comment personally, it's too close to Christmas to get into a pi$$ing match about hurtin' someone's feelings!

Buying our own may be offered but again it will be a short term solution to a hurdle not the final policy and plan.
The word on the street is that apple doesn't want to cooperate with Delta nearly as much as Microsoft does. Microsoft would love to have us as a customer for their tablet and operating system. They would be more likely to allow us freedoms with the os that Apple will not. Microsoft also pointed out just how much they like to fly (read: continue to fly) on Delta Air Lines. FWIW, I will believe it when the tablet is in my hand monitoring my surfing habits.

Latest word I've heard is the plan is to issue us all windows tablets sometime later next year.

Take that with a large grain of salt.

I had some more time to think about it. Now, I wonder if whoever thought of the policy had ever been to JFK?

Is there ever a delay there where you are given a reason for the delay that doesn't turn out to be something totally different later on?

Just send the FO out to do the PA. We are all levelheaded, have excellent people skills, and don't freak out at angry hordes of New Yorkers.

Hey man I have a 240p ( p= progressive as opposed I=interlaced)

Sports and blue ray look awesome, everything else is about the same. I have a Samsung 46" 240p LED that I got 2 years ago from sears. It works great. I also got it with a free Samsung blue ray player. The tv remote plays well with the blue ray player so the wife likes that.

From what I've seen so far, there is no danger of this catching on. I predict a quiet, orderly retreat from this "Bridge Too Far"....

Nice to see the participation on here without all the flame wars. We are all in the same boat, except for NewK, who is in his own yacht.

I do think the VA deal would help us, as a company and as pilots for that company.

I bailed on Air Watch. Too balky, not even in the same league as Good reader, and I'm just not into allowing any app that much access to anything. Check out the newer, smaller tablets... Much easier to lug around and cheaper.

Read in one of the memos from flt ops that the 717 is to be the launch fleet for the "tablet device". Have also heard Microsoft willing to give us a lot more freedom than the evil empire from NoCal.
