If I remember correctly, in the multi-page book they put out with Contract 2012 goals, holiday pay was one of them. So, somewhere there was input that it was desired - it just didn't make it into the contract.

The contact says this is what "Sickness" is:

Section 14:

14. A. 12: “Sick” means disabled due to sickness, as defined in Section 14 A. 15.

14. A. 15: “Sickness” means any personal medical condition of a pilot, physical or mental, that disables him from performing duties as a flight crewmember.

Correction:
If you have remaining vacation, it will be moved to cover FMLS absences.
You don't have the option of not moving vacation...

We need to re-pursue this next contract. There wouldn't be nearly the stress on the reserve system, slips, sick, if guys could bid to fly trips for holidays and reimbursed accordingly. Like Timbo pointed out, we're the only employee group who doesn't get paid more for working on holidays. Where's the "me too" in that?

Also, night pay, please.

I got a couple of Robo-calls today, which I really didn't expect because my category is over-manned. Turned out they were just notifications of my X-day move request for next month being approved. They just turned on phase 2 of the auto-notification program. We're leaping into the 90's, tech wise.

o Ability for a pilot who returns from disability and who has exhausted his sick leave hours for the current sick leave year to elect to transfer up to 50 hours from the subsequent sick leave year accrual

There are more items under sick leave but this one answers your question.

Denny
Is there anyway to get your sick time back if you are out on OJI and burn your sicktime? It seems like a big penalty if you can't for an OJI injury.

WRONG. If you fail to meet the criteria of the IMSAFE checklist, the FARs prohibit you from legally operating the aircraft. It does NOT mean Delta is obligated to PAY you. Delta's obligation falls under the PWA, and has been explained in other posts.
