Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
All,
On a very sad note, one of our SEA A330 CA's passed away while on a layover in LAX this past weekend after arriving from HND. "Blue", as he was known to his Navy buddies, had taken the RMA and was planning to retire next March. A super pilot and a great guy, he will be sorely missed by those who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 30+ years and 3 sons. RIP "Blue"

Short call question. You are in group 1 based on short calls (less than 3 sc's) but in bucket 2 based on Raw score (81 score +). If you are on short call and there are more senior pilots also on short call but in bucket 1 (based on Raw) the more senior pilot should get called first. Is this correct (days available are the same)? Here's what the contract says. Thanks.
S. Reserve Pilots
1. A reserve pilot will:
a. be awarded/assigned open time under Section 23 N. or O.
Note one: Open time will be assigned to reserve pilots (within days-of-availability groupings) beginning with the reserve pilots within the lowest RAW value grouping and then progressing to the reserve pilots within the next higher RAW value grouping.
Note two: Within days-of-availability groupings, reserve pilots whose RAW values are in the same RAW value grouping will be assigned open time in inverse seniority order unless one or more of them have submitted a yellow slip, in which case open time will be awarded in seniority order to the reserve pilot(s) who submitted a yellow slip for such open time.

Yes.. Assuming no yellow slips etc, the pilot in bucket 1 would be assigned a trip over a pilot in bucket 2 assuming your short calls began at the same time. If the trip is going to cause a pilot to be within 2 hours of whitlow they can bypass that pilot. If the trip is also less than 2 hours after the start of SC,
(Commuter policy) they can also choose the next pilot down in RUO.
At least that is how I understand it.. If everything is identical, the pilot in the lesser bucket should get the trip.

APD question- does anyone know if "swap with the pot" is processed before or after APD requests? ie, if you have both requests in the system related to the same rotation which is processed first? thx
