BTW, you guys predicting AE results by "COB, today" make sense, but does "COB" refer to the actual time B C, or later in the day like 5PM?

If I recall from the SLI discussions, we can order from Boeing and have deliveries after 18 months, I bet Airbus is similar. Now if we want to wait for Neos, that's a lot longer. (2015-2016 earliest in service).

You could bring half an old steering wheel with you and set it on the lunch table for that Boeing feel.

Hah! I'll bet they release the bid right after the Crew Resources guys and gals go home for the weekend. They do take the phone off the hook though for a couple of days , too.

I was so hoping we would see the AE results today. 430pm now and the resources people have gone home. Why didn't they close this bid at 10am yesterday so they could have worked on it earlier?
So now they'll have it out monday at 11am,2 hours after showing up for work.
Really, they can't finish this up now? No problem if we're delayed two hours before we can go home...

I've tried changing the URL from the 17 Aug results to .....20121109, but no luck. It looks like we wait patiently at the front door. Maybe it's so ugly they have to revisit on Monday. The B767 FO displacements could cause a good sized training ripple for being a small group.

I think they closed it at 1500, but don't disagree overall. I don't see how these things would take more than about 2 hours to run, and 5 hours to verify.

I think it gets a little trickier when you have to manually decide what to backfill, what open positions to withdraw, and what displacements to allow.

All speculation on my part, but I think all AE's are tweaked, and tweaked. Nothing illegal, because the contract is far too permissive on this topic.

Well ... it isn't their job, or their pay, or quality of life that hangs in the balance. ...

Gunfighter and Sink are on the mark. The number of pilots they hold and allow to backfill make all the difference in the displacement pin action.

In the old days it always took them a bunch of days, now even with major displacements it takes them a day at the most.
That's why I said if they had closed the bid at 10am yesterday instead of 3pm yesterday,we could have seen the results today. But why would they care right?
I think the resources people are more busy planning their roadshow in NRT on 12-14 nov.
