Sat one 24 hr SC in OCT. You're on the wrong category man. You'll never get to fly with TSquare.

DAL was roughly 40 airframes short of the mainline size trigger, so in the real world the only way the number of permitted 76-seaters was increasing under the old contract was if the 717s (or similar narrowbody growth aircraft) showed up on property - something sailing & friends have been arguing for the last 10 pages wouldn't have happened without the new contract.

Incorrect. A large RJ was defined as 51-76 seats and a MGTOW of 86K(with Compass planes grandfathered in). The total number of allowable large RJs under the old contract was 255, not 153. Facts are facts. Add to that, unlimited 70 seat turbo props were allowed.

You're trying to argue what may have been, not what was definite.

Mom: Never mind ... so you fly for Delta?
Me: Yes, I mean No, (ah heck, might as well ... )
Ha, no kidding, I think everyone at the regional level has that conversation a few times a year. It gets to be a pain. I just explain no I don't work at Delta, but would like to some day and then change the subject.

You clearly don't have a understanding of the scope portion of the contract and the changes from the old contract.

I've noticed this too. In my category we hardly have anyone on long call anymore. Called ALPA and they said they're "looking into it". The sucky thing is they can give you your 6 short calls to start the month off and you're still a long way out from being in the second bucket so then you get trips the rest of the month. Or vice versa. Not that I don't love commuting to short call.

The L & G about Delta has turned into a swamp of depressing "group think" mentalities, and if you don't agree with the "club", you're obviously either incapable of posting on a "mainline" forum, or "too junior" to realize how difficult all those previously employed by Delta truly had it.

Keep offering the "other side of the fence" Jungle, and hopefully Shiz will go away.

Wow, you're so creative.

Yeah, company puppet..... I just spit Octoberfest all over my keyboard! You obviously have NO IDEA who I am or how many things I've done to work for pilots, and not just for Delta Pilots.

I don't know about you, but it's darn near impossible to "constructively engage" with someone who rides on emotional comments packed full of truthiness.

Gloopy, ACL, ftb, buzz and I don't agree sometimes, but when it comes down to it we don't take it personally and continue to have a dialog, because emotion stays out of the discussion and things remain based on the merit of the facts and reason.

Posters like Bacon (aka Drank) and jungle bring emotional comments, incomplete facts, and an agenda to a discussion, but never any constructive solutions. Jungle is NOT Delta Pilot, misunderstands the complexity of the Delta PWA and repeats talking points that have been shown to be incorrect and inaccurate.

There are really good people at Compass, and to a man my friends who are "lurkers" apologize for jungle's attitude whenever they see him start commenting on the Delta L&G thread.

I appreciate and respect opinions that differ from mine, what I do NOT appreciate is individuals who bring emotion, ignorance and an agenda to a reasonable and logical discussion about business.

The number as your mentioned could have gone to 255 76 seaters. The new contract restricts this to 223. It would have been fairly easy for the company to manipulate the fleet numbers to hit the total targets for more 76 seaters. They could have retained more nines/757's in the fleet and even brought aircraft out of the bone yard for a few months. With the 737's coming they could have easily added more 76 seaters then dumped the mainline aircraft. A pump and dump is not possible with the new contract. In addition the DCI fleet will have a hard cap of 450 airframes down from over 680 airframes not long ago. Once at 450 all future growth must go to the mainline. Again quite different from the old contract.
