Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

........So the only other thing I could have typed that was uninformed, innaccurate, or foolish is that not many DAL guys included more outsourced replacement jets in their wish list. You're right, I'm not DAL (just carry your pax)... I only know about a dozen or so DAL pilots and only carry 2 or 3 DAL guys on my jumpseat each week, and DALPA never released the survey results, so I don't know what the pilot group wanted. Perhaps most pilots actually were in lock-step with DALPA and were all for the greater outsourcing of mainline-capable airplanes. I gave the pilot group the benefit of the doubt. Funny to get accused of being too optimistic about the DAL pilot group.

Sure thing. I've gotten as far as having to set it up from a "company computer" ( one that is tied in directly to the network). I'm gonna try it next to I'm at work, see if I bet anywhere.

Hope the mods can see through this post and realize it is about economics, not politics ...
Given that hurricane Sandy may have provided a last minute campaign boost to the incumbent and robbed the challenger of valuable media opportunities; then forecasts are that GDP will be 1.25 to 1.5% higher due to economic certainty as well as continued income re-distribution to segments of our economy where those payments are instantly spent (as opposed to saved).
Anyone have any idea if Delta might have plans for a slightly better than expected 2013, which might mean a couple 757's sticking around with a few DC9's providing needed capacity? Or, is the current displacement malaise which lies over Atlanta like thick smog not likely to be blown out as a result of hurricane Sandy?
As a precaution, I'm locking in interest rates today.

Make of it what you want, in a totally non-partisan, a-political sort of way, of course.

DC9B ATL, we hardly ever fly out of the South East. Doubt we will see snow, wind or major weather events in SAV or BHM. Wouldn't be surprised if that is what scheduling was thinking though.

Delta would have to dig deep then. I've priced tickets in and out of the Northwest twice in the last week. Alaska has the cheapest restricted coach fare by about $10.
And I doubt very seriously that Delta would undercut their favorite competitor.
So maybe it's not brand loyalty. Maybe Delta's 5.6% quarterly cost growth has something to do with it.

It was an aside on my part, but your comment puzzles me a bit. "Our" passengers? We don't sell a single ticket. All our pax' tickets have the DAL code on them. Seems to me we don't carry any Compass passengers, we carry Delta passengers.
DAL certainly agrees. Our airplanes have DAL livery. Our service is continually being streamlined to mimic DAL's. They don't even want us using "Compass" in our PAs. The sole indication most pax have that they're not on DAL is a tiny sticker under the CA's window that's usually covered by the jetbridge. If I asked our pax who they were flying on, 95% would say Delta. If DAL ever decides we're a bit too expensive, we sure as heck don't have a right to those passengers, DAL will kick us to the door and give em to GoJet.
But hey, if you want to further disassociate yourself from flying that should rightfully be yours, I'm sure DAL won't mind.

GEICO? Can the Gecko fly? Or, are you thinking Flo?
Ensure, not to be confused with the label on your breakfast beverage, is the word you are looking for.

You are correct. But, after we take their money, we expect you to deal with their issues, even if we cancelled your flight to manage traffic flow into New York. If the passenger should get upset, an outsourced Agent working for DGS or what's left of Elite will explain to them that Chautaqua, Republic, SkyWest, Expressjet, Compass, Mesaba, Pinnacle, Air France, Alitalia, GOL, Alaska, or AeroMexico is really the cause of their inconvenience, although not responsible.
... and while you used to be a part of our MEC, represented by our Reps, we, in our infinite wisdom, decided that we would be better off representing fewer pilots and less flying, because less leverage is the new more leverage in this nonsensical puzzle palace of representational disunity.
So while you are factually correct, you need to understand that we don't base our conclusions on fact. In fact, the less logic you bring to this discussion, the better for everyone's peace of mind.
